Hiya all!

It’s been well…phew, a long time. This is a bit of an update post, I guess. I’ve not been on in quite some time, not active by any means anyway. I occasionally pop in to see what’s what still, but actively reblogging and making posts, not so much. Life has been rather crazy, a lot has changed in the last year, and honestly my muse and love to write fanfic has died off.

Most of you know me for Kingsman, some for Hannibal, and maybe you just follow me for funsies. I hate to say I’ve fallen out of the fandoms, in general really. Not because I don’t love the characters, the ships that I sailed or the movie/show. It’s just my life has changed enough my writing has taken such a back seat, it’s almost in the trunk (locked away with no light in sight).

Between a personal life changing surgery, a new job, drifting friendships and dwindling fandoms, I’ve lost touch with tumblr. Now that life seems to be equalizing for me, and honestly my obsession with James Cameron’s Avatar movies, I am going to try and be a bit more active. Mostly for my own entertainment, as we all come here for that, and to maybe rekindle some lost friendships. Of course no hard feelings if the latter doesn’t happen, because life happens and friendships are like seasons; they come and go.

I can’t promise I’ll ever get back into my fandoms, finishing stories I feel absolutely guilty about leaving unfinished, or writing in general. BUT that doesn’t mean I’m not open to talking about them, because I still very much do with @epicallychrissy!

Anyway, so here’s to whatever happens from this post on.

Merlin is not quite sure what he’s still doing at Eggsy’s place at the moment.

He had just meant to check the security system to make sure it was still up to Kingsman exacting standards. Heavens only knew what Harry had done to it while living in the house, considering his propensity to fiddle with any technology he could get his hand on. Usually it was to better result than even Kingsman’s R&D team could achieve, but Merlin wasn’t about to risk Eggsy’s safety without checking himself.

He’s lost Harry already, he’s not about to lose the lad too.

Thankfully all seems to be in order and he was about to leave when Eggsy ask him to stay for tea. And sure, things are still busy with V-Day just happened a month ago, but Merlin feels like he’s definitely earned a break.

And Eggsy too. The Knights as a whole might not have been as busy as the handlers and clean-up teams recently, but Eggsy has been helping in whatever capacity he could. All the while helping his Mum moving in the new house and taking care of Daisy.

Merlin would feel jealous of what appears to be bottomless energy if he hadn’t noticed the dark circles under Eggsy’s eyes and the way he seems to be unable to stop yawning whenever he has to stand still. It’s a blessing he’s not needed on a mission right now.

They’re sitting on the same couch out of habit. Whenever he’s not helping one of the department at the manor, Eggsy has gotten into the habit to bring food and tea to everyone and he always finishes his round by Merlin’s office. And because Merlin is so very obviously fond of the lad, he always ask him to stay for a bit. These little moments in his company have been one of the main thing that has let him keep him sane for the past month.

Eggsy usually keeps up some chatter, a much needed distraction from dealing with V-Day’s aftermath, but sometime, like today, they just sit in silence, simply enjoying each other’s presence.

However, no matter how exhausted they’ve been lately, it’s the first time Eggsy just falls asleep against his shoulder. It feels rather humbling to realise that Eggsy trust him enough to lower his guard so much around him.

Merlin carefully removes the empty cup of tea from Eggsy’s hands and places it with his own on the low table, hoping not to wake him. Eggsy very much needs all the rest he can get.

The little frown that appeared on his face quickly smooths out when Merlin gently lowers him so that he’s lying with his head on his lap instead and starts playing with his hair.

It’s not long before Merlin falls asleep too, lulled by Eggsy’s peaceful breathing.

9: John Watson. I cannot with him after series 4 of Sherlock. Kingsman wise? Charlie. Like. He has no redeeming qualities. I don’t understand why anybody would bother shipping him with anyone.

19: The woobification of Eggsy. I don’t think he’s a smol precious baby that needs protecting and I dislike him treated/written that way.

4. what flower would you like to be given?

oooh okay so I actually really don’t have many flower preferences? however, i do have a calla lily, a rose, two daisies and three sunflowers tattooed on me, so any of those would be fun to get! 

10. what’s something you’re excited for?

god. i WAS excited for the tattoo appointment i had on January 7th (like, stupidly excited. i was counting down the days.) but then my city went into lockdown yesterday, so... honestly, there’s nothing I'm currently looking forward too :/ which is tough

13. what’s your comfort food?

anything heavy and savoury. lately i’ve been getting A LOT of ramen. the other day i get Chinese to combat some trauma. if I'm sad i just wanna feel full tbh

18. do you still love stuffed animals?

i don’t! i have nothing against them, of course, but i don’t have any i use. i still have my childhood stuffies hidden away in my closet, but none on my bed or in easy reach.

sorry for the delay! Life’s been a bit more than hectic, and my head’s not been in a great place tbh. But I’m working on it. I hope this is to your liking!!

Merlin loved cooking. He loved the way you could follow instructions, or not; the way you could create ruin from disaster and use miscellaneous bits and bobs to create beauty. Someone had once said that there was little similar between adapting technology and a chef’s mastery and Merlin had barely bit back a laugh- the only difference he could see was in the materials involved.

He found the process almost meditative, when he allowed himself to simply be and do whatever his body decided needed to be done.

But, much like his desk at R&D, having someone else in his creative space was... difficult.

Until Eggsy.

Eggsy, who had one day simply slotted himself beside him and begun to peel a potato as if he’d been in this kitchen all his life. Who had passed tools and cookware in response to half-formed questions from the first time he had entered the space. Eggsy, whose chaotic energies in the field were somehow tempered when tasked to create.

‘And what’s that,’ Merlin sighed into Eggsy’s hair, one arm tucked about his shoulder as the other kept a firm grip on his case of reports, ‘I’m smelling from my kitchen?’ He looked down into lighter eyes, one brow raised in response to the cheeky grin.

‘Magic stew!’ Eggsy bounced off, pulling a small stack of containers from one end of the counter and a loaf of sourdough from the breadbox. Merlin set the case at the base of the sofa and watched with a small smile as Eggsy pulled together a large helping of the stew, sprinkling some chopped bacon and small chunks of gouda atop before bringing it carefully to his husband. He placed the bowl down, raised himself to his tiptoes to press a smiling kiss to his jaw, and went to get his own.

Eggsy is in Kano on a recon mission. He absolutely hates it, but so does all agents and Merlin doesn’t play favourites. Actually, Merlin has started to think he subconsciously does the opposite. That is, sending Eggsy on these missions more often than the others just so that no one will accuse him of favouritism.

It’s a hard balancing act dating a agent, he’s come to learn.

Merlin’s at his station. He’s not actively watching any of the agents currently in the field, because there’s nothing happening and the one thing that might be more boring than being on a recon mission is watching someone on a recon mission. (Perhaps watching someone on a surveillance mission, but it’s splitting hairs at that point.) Instead he’s trying to reach the bottom of his inbox before he heads home for the evening, when Eggsy suddenly comes on the line.

“Merlin?”

His head snaps up, but there is no change in Eggsy’s feed. It’s the same hotel room as he checked into four hours ago.

“Yes, Galahad?”

“You look amazing tonight.”

“What do you know about it?” asks Merlin with a small laugh. “This isn’t a two-way stream.”

“Don’t need it, you always look amazing.”

“Hehe... down, lad.”

“So what are you wearing tonight?”

“Galahad,” Merlin says, putting some sternness into the word.

Eggsy takes the hint immediately. “Sorry.”

“I know you’re bored, but that’s not what this line is for.”

“I can call you on your mobile?”

“Get some sleep, you’ll need it tomorrow.”

“Aw, come on, help a bloke out.”

Merlin waits. There’s a long, drawn out silence. Then he stops the recording.

“I’m wearing red sole Louboutins.”

There’s a small gasp from Eggsy. “Nothing else?”

Merlin thinks about it for moment. “My dress sporran.”

“Fuck, you’re killing me here. We’re so doing this when I get home.”

“Just go to sleep when you’re done.”

Eggsy laughs. “Yes, sir.”

His feed goes off the air and Merlin puts on the recording again. Dating an agent is a difficult balancing act, indeed.
