AU where it’s this Rose and this Stewart… The aesthetic calls to me
Stewart's the kind of guy to try to impress Rose by reading the same book as her to set up a conversation, just to realise too little too late that he got the wrong book with the same title, so now both of them are extremely confused and think the other is either gatekeeping or messing with them
"She looked up as Stewart stuffed his copy of Queen Valhalla into his bag and sat down beside her. Rose might have spent a lot of time studying, but lately she'd started seeing Blane's geeky best friend in a different light. She could feel her cheeks burn. Stewart didn't seem to notice and just pulled out his textbook. 'How am I meant to get to university using this pile of junk?' Rose muttered angrily, trying to hide her embarrassment."
OH SHE'S DOWN BAD... LIKE... REAL BAD.
I’m in a Strose mood again, so headcanon that post-Series 2, Stewart starts yapping about something scientific and waits for someone to actively jump into the conversation like Rose did, but nobody ever does. He realises that, while they may not have always agreed in that area, she did always bring something to the table, and he does actually miss talking to her. CUE YEARNING.
The "falling in love hits different when you know they're a paid actor sent by the CIA to distract you from dedicating your life to dismantling the government" meme with Strose in an AU.
They have dates, trust me
Now, if there's one thing I can absolutely see both Rose and Stewart doing together quietly, it would be building a LEGO set
And if I rambled about why I think Rose and Stewart would be a better match, not in terms of their on-screen chemistry (because they had none), but just in theory alone? Okay? Okay.
