I’ve just realised that Frank has canonically spent more time with Dan, Aneisha, and Tom than he has with Rose, Carrie, and Oscar under the M.I. High programme. I don’t know how I feel about this information.

Zoe with ‘Die Your Daughter’, but in the sense that she only sees the Mastermind as her father in order to see herself as a person.
jellyfish have to be kept in a round tank because if they're in a tank with corners they'll get stuck in them. I think that's beautiful. god's stupidest little plastic bags (affectionate)
Also when being bred in captivity(this is done at my work and my job is to teach people about it) to get them to reproduce from the polyp stage of life, we have to intentionally cause them enough stress to reproduce but not enough to harm them. Lately we’ve done that by cleaning their habitat extra well, makes them think the word is ending

Tbh, adults perceiving Jonathan at various points throughout his childhood and adolescence is so important to me. It's fascinating, but there's also just so much there potentially. Did they see? Did they care? Did anyone try to say something? Did they all look the other way? Was someone kind to this boy? Did they want to be?
I think Jonathan was in a very fucked up situation that affected his development and lived experience profoundly, and certainly the confluence of stressors and relevant factors particular to his circumstances are as unique as anyone's, but Jonathan is neither the first nor the only abused or neglected or overburdened or neurodivergent or impoverished or atypically masculine or stressed out child his teachers would have taught or interacted with (and his situation could be worse). Other adults, who don't have as much regular contact with a lot of different kids, I dunno.
But I really think Jonathan just read as a very strange child because he absolutely was a child and not equipped for what was happening and what was put on him, but he was also unsettlingly mature. A lot of people think they like that and praise it (and some probably did, unfortunately), but a lot of adults are kind of freaked out by that. Jonathan has a lot of traits that frequently don't inspire a lot of warmth or understanding in adults or authority figures, some of which could even be received with disdain or contempt. And he's tired, like, all the time.
And! Let's not forget he's our little anti-establishment, fuck authority darling. He thinks differently, he notices things, he has a sense of justice and the unfairness of it all. He's independent, thinks for himself, and trusts his instincts. He's suspicious and wary and reserved, maybe even aloof. So... Yeah, I just don't see a lot of adults warming to him.
But maybe someone did. Someone had to be kind to him now and then.

The concept of Aneisha being an advocacy journalist…
For all the happiness you wish for someone, someone else gets cursed with equal misery. That's how it works for Magical Girls, and that's how it is for me. I was so stupid, so stupid.
I was waiting to make a compilation until I made a Kyoko piece but. Lord knows when that will happen. So here 🫶
RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.

Reblogging in honor of Marjane Satrapi, one of THE great graphic novelists. Her comic Persepolis was a crucial text for shaping my belief that comics can deeply explore identity, culture, politics, and history.

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

Thinking about how ‘The Final Endgame’ said Zoe wouldn’t only have her mind transferred, but that she’d forget everything when it finished… I’m sick
I realise now that the implication may have been ‘the transfer involves swapping minds, so her body would “forget” her memories’ or ‘the Mastermind was dying, so her mind would collapse shortly after the transfer, thus losing her memories’, and not ‘her memories will be erased once the transfer was complete’, but technically, neither of those is really forgetting, is it?
Surely, the implication that “[Blane and Daisy are] heading up a new programme, training young spies like yourselves,” means that the criteria to join the M.I. High programme are different to Unit Alpha, like maybe the candidates are too young to join the M.I. High programme. Maybe I’m overthinking it, given Oscar and Carrie had their own training programme too (despite the OG three being trained after being accepted into the M.I. High programme), so it could've been the official predecessor for the M.I. High programme only after they joined?
However, I also feel like MI9 letting Della work as an agent says a lot, even if she’s the one who wanted it. I know you're supposed to feel happy that Della defected to MI9, and that she's no longer working as a SKUL agent, but I also think Daisy and Blane would just quit heading Unit Alpha (if they didn't already buckle in the two weeks). She is ten, and I think they would find issues with the concept of the programme. 😭
Oscar: I really hope that Della's doing well in training. Rose: Don't worry, Daisy and Blane will treat her well! Meanwhile, Daisy and Blane at HQ: WE NEED TO SHUT THIS DOWN NOW. WE CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE.
Thinking about 'The Red Button Rampage' again, like... They really wrote that... They really wrote a general in the military as corrupt, who was about to cause World War Three so that he could keep his job... /pos
I’m realising that if Avril was in Series 1-2, her distrust of the government would’ve totally been written in the right, rather than a more comedic aspect like it is in Series 3-5
I've come to the realisation that Series 1-2 writes MI9 as "we work with the government", whereas Series 3-7 writes MI9 as "we work for the government", which is probably where the discrepancy between showing which governments/nations are in the wrong comes from.

My favorite Girl Scout Cookie are the Peppermint #deke shaws.

“I did.”
Zoe, you deserve the entire world, and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. 🥹
