Structural-Functional Perspective: Modernity as a mass society. In the top Society the people have faces and are smiling and interacting with each other. In the second, we see a society in which prosperity and expanding bureaucracy have weakened traditional social ties. No one in the second picture has a face, there’s a police officer in front of ‘Gap’  and no one is interacting.
