It was rare that the pair’s opinions coincided, especially when it pertained to matters involving their relationship. This time however it came down to two very startling and daunting histories. Both Jem and Tessa had grown and changed over their many years apart; both had also gained tremendous fears and tribulations for love and loss alike. Constantly Jem was at wits end, fearing that both he and this second chance would be taken in an instant. He worried about her often careless antics, always trying her hardest to help the most people while single handily placing herself in illicit danger. Every fiber of his being needed Tessa, he had finally gotten her back. Was it so silly that he hadn’t wanted to loose her again?
Her words brought a slip of anger to the usually collected shadowhunter, his dark eyes flared, cheeks taking a rosy hue. He was worried sick for her and these crazy missions the clave sent her on. There was no part of him that could tell her no, yet there was an ache to be able to say those words, to keep her in his arms. Safe.
❛i’m leaving you. I have a sudden urge to take a walk.❜
