Shaka does likes sweets but he hates chocolates.
His top 10 of desserts and sweets are:
10.- Sohan Papdi (Candy floss)
9.- Gajar Ka Halwa (carrot based sweet pudding)
8.- Kheer (Rice pudding, yes again, but this is the Indian version with with cardamom and nuts)
7.- Carrot Barfi (Carrot Fudge)
6.- Gujiya (sweet dumplings made of flour and khoya)
5.- Gulab yamun (Ball-shaped dumplings soaked in rose flavored sugar syrup)
4.- Peda (Milk, mawa and sugar sweet)
3.- Khir (Himalayan rice Pudding)
2.- Jalebi (Fried batter with spicy syrup)
1.- Besan Ka Laddoo (gram flour sweet. Tho he honestly likes all kinds of Laddoo)
Not sure if I have mentioned this before (or maybe I implied it, who knows) but I have this headcanon that Icelus has a rather good night-vision for a non-dark/night deity, better than any of his siblings.
Lets talk about headcanons.
Lets talk about Varanasi, Sarnath.
It is a fact that Shaka was born in India and thanks to the Hades Arc, Chapter Sanctuary, episode 9, we have this flashback of Shaka having conversations with Buddha, the Ganges river is mentioned and we have an image of an Statue of standing Lord Buddha.
With all this I couldn’t help but to picture the sacred city of Sarnath, located near Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Sarnath is one of the four most important places for Buddhism, for it is here where The Buddha gave his first sermon.
I guess the part I’m taking an stretch on the headcanon department versus what is canon, is that statue of Budha we saw on the flashback. Sarnath does have a giant statue of Buddha, in fact, it is only here where you can find the tallest statue of an standing Buddha in all of India. Let is be known that, even if it is India where Buddhism was born, you can’t find many Buddhism temples, in fact, Buddhist is one of the smallest religions in India, even smaller than Christianity, the problem is that, while this statue started its construction back in the 70′s, it was not only in 2011 that it was finished and inaugurated, and again, you don’t find many statues like this on India.
The city of Varanasi is algo a great factor to on this, it is considered one of the holiest city and it is as well one of the most populated ones, not only this but Varanasi is as well one of the most ancients cities, not only in India but in the entire world, it is a city of the city of spiritual light at the banks of the Ganges.
It is in Varanasi where you can find the Ghat, a revered funeral place for the Hindus. Despise all these, it is not only Hindus who travel to the Gnashes to be purified or to die. Many Buddhist locals and pilgrims from all over the world, for it was a placed where Budha lived and Buddha himself used the river as a metaphor for many lessons. When he wanted to give the idea of an incalculable amount of something he would say that it was as numerous as the grains of sand in the Ganges, when he wanted to emphasize the effectiveness of his teachings for attaining nirvana he used the inevitable, unstoppable eastward flow of the Ganges to illustrate this idea.
When the Buddha left Patna during his last journey, he had to cross the Ganges in order to get to Vesàli, and so, many pilgrims cross the river like he did.
Last but not least, let it be clear I am not an expert on either Indian or Buddhism.
If you want to add up anything or correct me you are free to do so.
Also, I apologize if it came across more of a lesson of history and religion rather than a headcanon.
Because I have been trying to flesh her out lately but I am bad at remembering my own hcs so I gotta write them down here :’D
She loves both her parents dearly, but deep inside she’s a bit more of a daddy’s girl.
She had a “I want a sibling!” phase as a kid. El Cid and Phantasos were quickly to persuade her to forget that idea, since it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.
Since a young age, Penelope grew up being aware of Phantasos using a female and male body at will, but she would still refer to Phantasos as “Mom”, thinking “Mother” was just the word used for the other parent you don’t call “Father” (aka some kind of “title” not really related to gender).
She wants to visit the Dream World so badly due to all the stories Phantasos has told her about it.
She grew up speaking mainly Greek and Spanish (although El Cid would also speak in Greek with her) so Penelope used to switch from one language to another without realizing it, and mixing words from both language when she didn’t know the proper word to describe something. #Bilingual problems.
Very-proud-of-her-lineage Phantasos would speak in classic Greek with a small Penelope, which was problematic for the kid when other foreign adults who weren’t native Greek-speakers wouldn’t understand her. El Cid promptly asked Phantasos to use “modern” Greek to avoid more linguistic problems in the future.
She knows that her parents were former enemies and that they belong to different armies, serving different (opposing) Gods. However she doesn’t quite grasp what this really means, and she just thinks they didn’t get along when they first met.
POOH I DEMAND PHANCID ANSWERS! ALL OF THEM! ALL 20! OR ELSE!
@teary-eyed-circle-of-friendship
NOOOoOOoOoOOoOoOoOoOOoOoOoo HOW COULD YOU XD BUT HERE ARE THE 20 QUESTIONS ANSWERED, BEWARE OF LONG TEXTS BECAUSE I ALWAYS GET WORDY WHEN TALKING ABOUT THESE TWO - AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
1) How did they met
Just like it happens in Canon. Although technically El Cid already knew a bit about Phantasos upon the research Sisyphus and he did about the Dream Gods.
2) What were their first impressions about the other
For Phantasos, he was just one of the thousands of mortals she had known during her long life. He only became remarkable when he refused to scream after having his arm cut off (and irritating Icelus as a result, something that Phantasos loved).
For El Cid, she was an opponent, an obstacle he had to overcome to fulfill his duty. And a very annoying one.
3) How did their relationship develop (did they get along easily or was it hard at first?)
It was quite hard at first. It seemed like if Phantasos didn’t mind they were former enemies and that puzzled El Cid to no end. He couldn’t understand why she was so obssesed with him, except for her childish nature. It took a lot of time for the Saint to finally grow fond of her.
4) A time when one of them was really worried about the other
After Penelope was born, the rift between Phantasos and her brothers was quite obvious, despite she rarely talked about it with El Cid. He was highly concerned because he knew how close the Dream Gods were and how the current situation was affecting their relationship.
5) Who takes more care of their armor
Both. El Cid because of what his Cloth represents (his duty as a Saint and his loyalty towards Athena), Phantasos because her Surplice is part of her divine status in no way does she do it to impress El Cid, nonsense.
6) Who is more protective of the other
Phantasos tends to be very protective of El Cid stating how she is a divinity and he simply mortal, and how they all have an obnoxious fixation to die easily.
He’s quick to remark that he still managed to defeat her xD
7) Who trains harder
El Cid hands down. The guy doesn’t know what a break is, no matter how hard Phantasos tries to distract him.
8) Who speaks more languages
By default, Phantasos knows more languages, but her speech is usually just in Greek (because, patriotism xD), whereas El Cid can switch between Greek, Spanish and English depending who he is talking to.
9) Who always gets their ass kicked in training
Phantasos. Despite she had learn her lesson after El Cid defeated her, she’s still very haughty and overconfident of her own powers and strength, which is a fatal flaw. She’s getting better though, to the point El Cid practices his Excalibur with her on a regular basis.
10) Who is the most affectionate
Phantasos again! xD Bording on the creepy territory sometimes.
11) Who is more reckless in battle
Phantasos. Like most Gods she’s too confident on her own abilities when fighting against a mortal. She learned an important lesson when El Cid overpowered her.
12) Who shows more mercy to the enemy
Surprinsingly, Phantasos. She’s not exactly “merciful” per se, but following Hypnos’ ideology, she prefers to put her rivals to sleep rather than killing them… Not sure if that can be considered “merciful” xD
13) Who tends to the other’s wounds
Phantasos tends to El Cid’s wounds, and she enjoys it a lot! (don’t imagine anything weird ¬¬), for them, it’s another way of spending time together, with Phantasos silently (for once) bandanging El Cid’s wounds, usually located in his arms.
14) Who is more loyal towards their God
Both are, which was one of the reasons El Cid couldn’t reciprocate her feelings at first. In the end they came to terms with the fact that asking the other to reject their God was selfish and that it didn’t had to interfere with their relationship (but it kinda does because I wouldn’t ship them if there wasn’t some angst here and there >:D)
15) How they usually like to spend time together
At first, training was their main hobby, but once they become closer to each other, they also enjoy strolling near the shore, going to Rhodorio (with Phantasos disguised as a civil), sometimes they would practice fencing with some of the (replicas) swords El Cid has in his Temple… Other times they would talk (well, only Phantasos did xD) about past events
16) Who is more excited when they get sent in mission together
They don’t get sent in mission together :c But that doesn’t stop Phantasos from following El Cid from time to time (especially if he’s sent alone).
17) Who’s more shy when it comes to feelings
El Cid. It’s not shyness, but rather not knowing how to properly express his emotions, so instead of physical or verbal displays of affection, he is very thoughtful… in his own way tho.
18) Who keeps count of all the enemies they defeated
Neither. Although Phantasos likes to go over old times to remind everyone that she’s still a deity and could destroy a whole city if she wanted to…
19) Who likes to brag more about their powers
Phantasos. It comes with her Godly DNA after all xD El Cid is quite the opposite, he rarely acknowledges any of his feats.
20) A song that perfectly describes them
I have realized I don’t have a song that describes both of them, but more like songs about each other’s POV xD So here you go:
Oops I did it again (Glee version) - Phantasos’ POV
4.) A time when one of them was really worried about the otherWhen Aiacos fought against Sisyphus, Violate couldn’t help but be concerned for her lord. He was strong but so was Sisyphus, in the end her concern was well placed.
10.) Who is the most affectionateAiacos. Though he’s never ‘public’ about his affection, it’s something that’s saved for the two of them when they can manage some time alone together.
12.) Who shows more mercy to the enemyAs a Judge of The Underworld and as a particularly merciless Specter, neither of them are merciful.
15.) How they usually like to spend time togetherAiacos enjoys watching as Violate trains, the rare times they spar are also greatly loved. They both can appreciate the peace and quiet they can manage together, especially when Aiacos is doing Judge related duties.
Aiacos also loves to braid Violate’s hair, I refuse to accept anything else.
17.) Who’s more shy when it comes to feelingsViolate, though not really shy, more like she’s not always sure if she’s truly feeling an emotion. Or she’s unsure how to react and proceed with said emotion.
Since Xoco asked Saga+Sigmund (¬¬ you will pay for this Xoco) I want to ask Sigmund+Aiolos plz? ^u^
Oh no I detect a fight in the future? Joking aside, I’m happy to do the other Brotp! ^_^
Everything here is related to the AU, under a readmore for length~
1.) How did they meetAiolos and Sigmund didn’t formally meet until Aiolos became Sanctuary’s ambassador to Asgard. Took them a while to loosen up around each other.2.) What were their first impressions about the otherSigmund heard of Aiolos as one of the Greatest warriors serving Athena, he expected someone like that, and for the most part Aiolos held up to his idea (However he is still a dork). Aiolos saw Sigmund as a younger man, dedicated to his duty, admirable, strong and perhaps a bit too serious.3.) How did their relationship develop (did they get along easily or was it hard at first?)It was a slow start but they are very much on the friendly side. Aiolos is in Asgard half of the year so it would be hard for him not be friendly with the God Warriors. As for Sigmund? Well Aiolos is a living ball of sunlight, it’s hard to ignore him.4.) A time when one of them was really worried about the other(Slight AU Spoilers) Twice Sigmund has been worried about Aiolos. The first when Aiolos had to do his first speech to the people of Asgard while Hilda was bedridden. The second, was when Aiolos returned to Asgard upset and disheartened by a conversation he and Saga had.5.) Who takes more care of their armorAiolos, he’s been caring for his Cloth longer than Sigmund has. And he’s slowly trying to get him to take better care of his God Robe.6.) Who is more protective of the otherSigmund, he is a God Warrior and Aiolos is an ambassador, it’s his job to do it. (And later on for more reasons~)7.) Who trains harderThe answer to this will always be Sigmund. Though Aiolos keeps in eye out to make sure he doesn’t over do it.8.) Who speaks more languagesAiolos, who much like Saga, has learned on and been around the world. Unlike Sigmund who has never left his homeland.9.) Who always gets their ass kicked in trainingSigmund, when sparring against a long distance fighter like Aiolos.10.) Who is the most affectionateAiolos, who is naturally dotting and affectionate to everyone he knows. (A+ Dad material)11.) Who is more reckless in battleSigmund, without a doubt. 12.) Who shows more mercy to the enemyAiolos, there were many reasons Shion thought he should become Pope.13.) Who tends to the other’s woundsAiolos, he’s a pro after years of patching up the younger brother Gold Saints.14.) Who is more loyal towards their GodBoth, no doubt there.15.) How they usually like to spend time togetherSparring is always good way, discussing current matters and tactics is always good. Sigmund is always up to hearing Aiolos talk about old missions or the places he’s gone.16.) Who is more excited when they get sent in mission togetherExcited is not quite the word to use. Anxious definitely, escorting an ambassador is no light matter, and Sigmund is very serious about his duty. Though Aiolos wished he’d lighten up somewhat.17.) Who’s more shy when it comes to feelingsSigmund, young and has idea how to express his emotions that he doesn’t show while on duty or in battle, aside from a few.18.) Who keeps count of all the enemies they defeatedNone, keeping count isn’t their ways.19.) Who likes to brag more about their powersNone, Sigmund is sensible enough not to and well, Aiolos has a repetition.20.) A song that perfectly describes themHero, Chad Kroeger
Yay, Omega time! 2.) What were their first impressions about the otherMixed, wasn’t enough time to get a good first impression of each other and Eden was too focused to really pay in attention to her or the others.3.) How did their relationship develop (did they get along easily or was it hard at first?)Like a hill at times, it’s better but sometimes they argue about things. However after some time they talk about it, and usually forgive each other afterwards. (They’re very mature for their ages)5.) Who takes more care of their armor(This is going by a HC of mine) Yuna, her Cloth was badly damaged to the point where it was only stable as a Bronze Cloth through Kiki, about a decade ago. It’s still slowly fixing itself back to it’s original form.8.) Who speaks more languagesRoughly the same, however Yuna knows more ‘useful’ languages. While Eden knows more ancient languages such as Latin and ancient Greek.9.) Who always gets their ass kicked in trainingThe exact percentage isn’t clear. But Eden has a higher likelihood, despite who his teacher was, he lacks the same amount of experience as Yuna.13.) Who tends to the other’s woundsYuna, she learned while at the Palaestra, while Eden didn’t know how until she taught him.15.) How they usually like to spend time togetherReading is a shared past time, and they don’t mind snuggling close to each other and enjoying some quiet while reading. Though Yuna also likes to hear Eden play the piano, she’s also learning how to play from him. 17.) Who’s more shy when it comes to feelingsEden, he wasn’t taught how to recognize certain emotions, unfit for a ‘prince’. Though he’s slowly learning how to but prefers to remain silent on his emotions until he’s sure about them.
