An express arrives from Yorkshire whilst another train stands at Platform 4 awaiting departure. Exchange was the smallest of Manchester’s principal stations having just 5 platforms. Platform 3 was joined to Platform 11 of the adjacent Victoria Station forming the longest in the world.
Exchange offered trains to Liverpool and North Wales, as well as destinations in Yorkshire and the North East.
The station closed in May 1969 when services were transferred to Victoria.
