another photographer who looks to nature and the landscape around us for inspiration. more documentary photography of our planet, a way to make sense of the world. he captures the natural landscape that most of us take for granted and overlook, confronting us with it’s beauty, and with the cold truth of what is at stake, and how it has already been effected. the first project in colour is called ‘footprint’, and the black and white project is called ‘the time of trees’

after researching climate change in the uk and how it is crucial for the ‘government and business to look at trees very differently’, the time of trees is a beautiful project to open our eyes so we notice these gentle living giants. a concept i would like to incorporate into my own project

"i’m interested in the whole nature-society phenomenon; the way in which we anthropomorphize aspects of the landscape and see ourselves reflected in it or as shadows across it"

he delves into the idea that even national parks – areas of great natural beauty – exist in an artificially protected way, ring-fenced from the march of industrialisation and cultivation. he not only captures man’s impact on the land but the ways in which mankind sees itself in a grand hierarchy of nature, powerfully cultivating his environment, but also somewhat awestruck by it
