Song for Social Enterprise
Because perhaps what the world of social enterprise really needs right now is a series of rousing anthems - to be recorded in due course by Michael Bublé or Rod Stewart or Taylor Swift - set to traditional music no longer subject to copyright, we give you a first modest attempt at a reworking of an old favourite. Nominations for both social enterprises and their theme songs will be accepted through the usual channels.
Jerusalem - For Year Here
And do those legs, in skinny jeans
Lead England’s fair graduating crop?
And has the Shetland isles’ organic wool,
Been woven into that tight-fitting top?
And does stubble the shade of beer,
Adorn his rugged English cheek?
And was the Year, builded Here,
Far up this mired and shitty creek?
Bring me my coach, and venture pack!
Bring me my ideation kit!
Bring me my boot camp and my hack!
As I suckle at the innovation tit!
I will not cease from enterprise,
Nor shall I fail to take a stand,
Till we have built a Year right Here,
Whilst looking like an indie band.
