awash, a waste

Sometimes i am achingly, mind-numbingly, finger-tinglingly, heart-stoppingly, gigglingly aware of how in love i am. i feel her breathing under my skin, on my tongue; she swims through my hair and down my arms and i get her blushes tangled up around my feet. i hear her singing in my sleep and laughing every time i wake up. she is not just touching my hand with her hand, my nose with her nose, hip to hip when we curl up like kittens, but she’s reaching inside all the twisted ivy i have growing through my heartstrings, and she’s plucking them oh-so carefully, tuning me, stitching together my wounds, making new pottery out of my broken pieces. she is a prehistoric gem, a great archeological find buried under an eternity of inadequacy; her beauty will sink more ships than Helen’s eyes could ever dream of. 

i am awash, a waste; i am blessed and blasphemous against her lips

(even the sky cries so hard when you leave, even the sun forgets its place and stutters out an apology to this part of the earth for taking you from me)

HIGH SCHOOL WRITERS NEEDED: The “My World” Literature Student Program

Flightunit.com is currently looking for English students to participate within its “My World” Literature Program. The “My World” Literature Program is a program that has been designed to help students expand on their current vision of the world through the eyes of there peers. The goal of this program is to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and to assist them in becoming progressively minded individuals by making them more consciously aware of their surrounding and actions.  In order to effectively accomplish this task students will be asked to write short pieces of literature (ie: essay, poetry, reflection pieces, success stories, book reviews, music reviews, movie reviews, etc) less than 500 words on the following topics; 1) Student Lifestyle 2) Student Success and Future Aspirations and 3) Current Events (from within your community to globally). Flightunit.com is aware of how impressionable young minds are and therefore we are providing youth with a platform through Flightunit.com to inspire and enlighten other youth through their knowledge. About “My World” Media Arts Program: Flightunit is aware of the power and impact of television on teens as teens are the number 1 viewers of television during the summer months. Flightunit.com is also aware of the immense media talent of high school students across the Greater Toronto Area. That being said Flightunit.com has designed an exciting Media Arts program for senior Media Art students to participate in called the “My World” Media Arts Program. The “My World” Media Arts Program has been designed to help students expand on their current vision of the world. The “My World” Media Arts program will provide Media Arts students with a platform through Flightunit.com to showcase their talents and works to assist in accomplishing their goal and inspire and enlighten other youth. The goal of this program is to provide students an opportunity to showcase their talents, assist them in becoming progressively minded individuals and lastly to make them more consciously aware of their surrounding and actions.  On that note students will be asked to submit visual media pieces (ie: monologue, videos, shows, skits, Public Service Announcements, digital stories, photo, etc) as a group or as individual around the following topics 1) Student Lifestyle 2) Student Success and Future Aspirations and 3) Current Events (from within your community to globally).
