The rally that started at noon is still going strong and people are once again setting up tents on the quad.  When I went earlier there were literally thousands of people out there.  Although it's mellowed down considerably, there's still a lot of activity.  Having all the news trucks and lights everywhere is sort of surreal.  There's even a helicopter that comes around every so often.

While I don't agree with everything that was said at the rally, the overall sense of solidarity (and the sheer amount of people that showed up) was really heartening.  It was also encouraging to see so many people from the city of Davis there this afternoon.  All of my professors have been wonderfully accommodating and supportive, one offering a makeup quiz and another a repeat lecture, as well as just generally acknowledging and reacting to what's been going on.
