Our university doesn’t give resident assistants a full meal plan— only partial. Our paychecks are less than $200 a month. We’re also not allowed to have another job unless given ‘special approval.’
When we ask how we’re supposed to afford to eat and pay bills, we’re told to take out more loans or just get money from family. I don’t know how they can say stuff like that with a straight face.
Both graduate and undergraduate student workers at public and private universities are increasingly exercising their rights to form unions.
Unionization efforts have been growing among undergraduate student workers across the country. If you’ve been a student worker, you probably understand why.

At my college orientation today the staff gave us a multiple choice question about who would you go to to get the REAL answers about college and this guy blurted out that there was no "mom" option
I just have to breathe, and realize that this week will not alter the entire course of my life. I’ll do just fine on my tests, they’ll love me in my interview, someone will take pity on me and cover my shift on Friday. Everything will be fine.
Only one essay left, then I will have officially submitted my student staff application :)
