sickeningly sweet like honey.
“ you don’t have to tell me anything, we can just sit here. ” ( byleth @ claude mayhaps )
A jovial smile touched his lips, and though he was good at masking his emotions, he couldn't hide the cold tiredness that lurked behind his eyes. "Oh? C'mon Byleth. I always have something to say. The day I don't is probably going to be the day I've died. Unless Hilda manages to swear me to secrecy on something, and even then, I don't think that would fully shut me up." Another thing Claude was good at involved the way he could speak often while truly saying very little. He had a feeling that out of everyone, Byleth new that side of him a little too well.
Shoulders sagging a little, he leaned back against the tower wall, turning his gaze to the stars. It was easier to look up now, especially when he was feeling....not wounded, but fragile. While he trusted more than anyone, he didn't think he could handle seeing the way their eyes pierced through his mask so effortlessly - at least compared to most.
"But...you might be on to something too. Stargazing is a nice way to take your mind off things, don't you think?"
