Purgatony

No, that's not a typo. It's a cartoon.

Lately a web series popped up called Purgatony. It's basically purgatory mixed with office work. Hijinx ensue, mostly between poor schlub Tony, a loveable kissass named Chad Bradley, and Death himself. It's got some humor, and some shock and language, but I still enjoy it. And now, I'm posting all four current episodes as a reccomend because the fourth and latest episode had something I wouldn't expect from this show: a glimpse of heaven and character development! So, maybe there's more to this show than office fun and naughty language. See for yourself and decide if you would put Purgatony in heaven or hell. And if you do wanna watch more, I've been seeing new episodes pop up on YouTube around Tuesday, but don't quote me on that, I'm not sure how many episodes they have planned before they take a break.

And yes, this is in part made by Explosm Entertainment, the same imps behind Cyanide and Happiness. The other part is Studio 71, I don't know what they've done previously.

After a month and a half of working on these, I finally finished my first set of marker illustrations! The goal of this exercise was to practice using alcohol based markers, along with other art materials, and to improve my coloring.

I’m very happy with the turnout. I started with Flint when I first got the materials and ended with Bella as of this evening. Bella and Fiero are definitely my favorites in terms of turnout, it’s the first time I’ve felt confident in blending the markers and getting the colors to look the way I want them, not to mention everything about Bella’s skin and hair is lovable, especially her very tiny freckles. If you’re wondering why there’s a smudge over on poor Fifi, the poodle there, it’s because I didn’t let the ink fully dry, and the markers I used for her, Sketchplan Markers, did not blend properly with themselves or any other brand I had. I actually ended up giving them away to my cousin for her adult coloring books shortly after Fifi was done. 

So under the cut, I’ll be showing some close ups of each of them with the materials in which they were made.
