~Maneki neko pattern now FREE~

Hello everyone!

I wrote a pattern to make some adorable maneki neko (lucky cats) a few months back. Because I needed some funding for my graduation trip, I charged a small fee for the pattern. But since I have now been to Japan and back and there were no sales for the pattern in these past months, I think it will be a nice gift to everyone if I now publish this pattern! :)

So here it is-you can download the pattern from my craftsy account for free now!

~Lucky bamboo plant~

Hi everyone! I'm off home for the weekend-what is everyone else doing?

Today I will be posting about this lucky bamboo plant I made for one of my lecturers who is leaving to go somewhere else as a farewell and thank you gift.

Anyway I wanted to make him something that wished him good luck for the future and so I thought of the Chinese lucky bamboo plant! In Chinese culture, 3 stalks represents wealth, longevity and happiness so I thought this was the perfect gift to give to him! :)

I looked at the internet for inspiration and I saw June Gilbank's lucky bamboo plant pattern which I really liked. Sadly you had to pay for the pattern and because I am still a poor student, I didn't have the money to buy the pattern ><'

So I sort of eyeballed the photo and created my own bamboo plant which you can see in the photos above. Its not as good as June's but oh well! My lecturer really liked it and he said he would bring it to where he is going! ^^

So just a little thanks for his help over the year!

~Mamegoma easter chick outfit~

Continuing with the easter theme, I made a chick outfit for purple mamegoma to wear! 

Anyway this again was very fun to make and because I had already made the bunny outfit by this point, it wasn't too hard at all! And I really like the end product as well! :)

~Bunny outfit for mamaegoma~

Because easter was coming up and I was so inspired by this beautiful amigurumi I saw on the net, I decided made this bunny suit for mamegoma 

I gave up reading the pattern by this point, but for all of you who can read japanese patterns, the pattern can be found here

Creating the bunny suit wasn't too bad and it was really fun to do so! I think my creative juices are finally flowing again! Yay!

~Purple mamegoma seal~

I have two little little sisters ( I have 4 in total) but because they are so similar in age that if I make something for the other, the other one must have the same (or similar), otherwise they will fight, especially if its something cute! 

So I made another mamegoma seal, this time in purple because thats my sister's favourite colour! 

Now they have a mamegoma seal each and are best of friends! Yay!

~Mamegoma seal~

My little sisters love mamegoma the seal as they think its adorable and I have to say that I must agree! Its just so cute!! 

Anyway I was on the internet searching for mamegoma patterns as I had just finished exams and my creative juices haven't quite recovered from their lack of use the past few months! I saw a really cute mamegoma pattern but sadly I am not too good at reading japanese patterns so I couldn't make head nor tail out of it! 

This was the page I was looking at-here So even though I couldn't read the pattern I was really inspired to make a mamegoma especially with the bunny and chick suit as well-its just too cute!!

So I made my own version of mamegoma with it own bunny and chick suit which I will write about in a later post!

~Happy easter!~

Hello everyone!! I haven't had a chance to post photos of the two mamegoma seals I made for my two little sisters but since its Easter at the moment, I thought I'll post photos of them dressed up as a Easter chick and bunny!

They were really fun to make and my little sisters loved them though they say that their costumes are their pajamas..well I suppose they do look like onesies for seals..lol

Anyway I hope everyone is having a great Easter with all their friends and families and with lots of chocolate and cakes! <3
