Written code by Joyce Weisbecker. Weisbecker would not only become the first-ever female commercial game designer, but also the first female indie game developer as well. Pictured here is code from her first published game TV Schoolhouse I (1976) released through her father’s RCA Studio II console, which she wrote in one week and was paid $250.00 for.
Susan Meiselas - 44 Irving St
I am looking at Susan Meiselas’ series 44 Irving St in relation to my project in Studio II where I want to photograph my three flatmates. This is a nice inspiration to look at for this specific project, as Meiselas has included her flatmates’ voices in the project as well.
Anna Grzelewska - Julia Wannabe
Anna Grelewska’s series Julia Wannabe, was also found on Lensculture when looking for projects on the topics growing up, womanhood etc. I think this has something very vulnerable over it.
Sam Harris - The Middle of Somewhere
“The Middle of Somewhere” is from my ongoing visual family diary, which revolves around my two daughters growing up. After leaving behind my photographic career (and life) in London in 2002, we passed several nomadic years before settling down in a remote part of Australia where this series began.
My work is a celebration of childhood, family life, love and our simplistic lifestyle which intertwines with our environment. As I witness my daughters’ transformation—in what feels like the briefest of moments—I’m compelled to preserve something of our time living together.”
I am looking at this series because I will be photographing on the theme adolescent/growing up. I found this work on Lensculture while searching for some work that would relate to these subjects.
