My five stages of sketching
step 1- I do a basic sketch with a light brush to get the proportions, composition and pose that I would like.
step 2- I refine my original sketch with a dark pencil to create features, expression and the exact lines I want to draw over for my line art.
step 3- I create a vector layer and draw my final lines over my sketch and get rid of any unwanted lines with the vector selection. After I’ve completed this i make sure there is no gaps for colour to bleed from when I am colouring.
Step 4- I fill in the line with a basic layer of colour.
Step 5- I shade, highlight and bend to create depth and dimension.
note:
I would usually do serval more layers for extra details, elements and backgrounds. Although for this tutorial I just wanted to show how a create a basic drawing on studio clip paint. This is how I would usually draw manga although I want to try painting without line art next time. I am going to use this sketch to experiment fire and glow effects on.
