I've worked on my sculpture head bust of the Bride of Frankenstein since I decided to become a sculptor... Which is about a year-and-a-half ago now. The reason why I put off finishing her so many times, was because Moulding her as a three-part mould not only takes a lot of time and effort but it takes a good chunk of change that I don't have! Being a full-time artist when you haven't actually established huge clientele just yet; is pretty difficult to find the time between a full-time day job and having any sort of a social life whatsoever to do the certain tasks that require a lot of attention, preparation and training for something like this. The don't get done just overnight. I've sculpted her, re sculpted her, I ripped her face off put more of her oil based clay on. Re-sculpted her hairline, her forehead and now she looks half finished again. But this time I'm adamant about moving forward with the three-part mold and she will be sculpted and completely cast in the new year just in time to start the YouTube channel for Studio Hypatia, our collective Studio here in Calgary Alberta. In case you haven't heard. Studio Hypatia was developed by myself and Cliff Erasmus to unite artists together give eachother exposure, enlightenment, shared ideas and good laughs and stories to go along with it. I hope that this YouTube channel and this community of artists will feel safe at Studio Hypatia to go to where they can talk about the success of being an artist, the struggles, our lifes passions, and the reward of the hard work. I really hope that I can make some sort of a difference in our community and bring more and more people together and help creatives even from all around the world once we have a solid foundation of web applications running every day! Anyway,.... this will be the last post of Frankenbride until she is completely cast and ready to be airbrushed. I am more than excited to actually get her done this time.
