A design remix of Steven Klein's photo shoot of Rihanna for her feature in Vogue Italia 2011, when they named her “The Woman Of The Year." His editorial is one of my all time favorite of her, it's a timeless classic. This would be her as a psychedelic futuristic deity, the Goddess of Lucid Dreams.

T.Y. Wellness Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Website Design & Art Direction

Rebranding and website redesign for T.Y. Wellness,  Los Angeles' premier acupuncture and herbal medicine center. They consistently show up in top search results for best of LA acupuncturist on yelp and Google, but their web presence was not representative of the quality and level of care they offer. They didn't advertise and their highly-ranked web presence was entirely due to their 5 star reviews on yelp and Google. Their website itself didn't show up in direct search results. I myself was treated by Dr. Min Choi and his team, so I had a first-hand experience of their amazing dedication and passion to their patient's healing journey.

T.Y. Wellness practices Traditional Chinese medicine, an ancient healing modality that is considered alternative therapy in the West. T.Y. Wellness had an outdated site that wasn't mobile-friendly and SEO-optimized. The center has had an excellent track record with successfully treating patients (especially with skin issues), outstanding reviews, and thus is in constant high demand and needed a new web presence to match their brand.  

BRANDING & ART DIRECTION

Create a fresh new look and feel that represents authenticity, quality care and a passionate patient-focused team of holistic healers behind the brand. Minimalist, clean design and simple UI to elevate the brand's current online image from an impersonal & cheap design to a warm, contemporary high-end look. Strong visual storytelling and SEO-optimized copy to reflect the team's authentic and caring personal approach and to communicate their story and methodology in a friendly and informative way that inspires trust. The earthy, soft color tones, clean design and classic typography to represent warmth and quality, and to give a combination of traditional and contemporary feel that reflect their medical style. They kept their old logo but everything else was redesigned.  

Parallax scrolling and stunning, full-screen imagery to elevate the visual experience on both desktop and mobile platforms. The site is built on Squarespace CMS, which I usually recommend to small to mid-sized businesses.

User Interface design & art direction for a software updater app that loads firmware files to compatible electric vehicle charging devices. The design challenge was to create an app that simplifies product upgrades and eliminates the need for a technician being present during the process. Previously, the firmware update would’ve required a technician visit to the client site using bulky cables and laptops to upload firmware. With the app, clients have easy access to the latest firmware updates in their app store, and they can update their chargers themselves.

This solution not only simplifies the process, but it’s also a huge cost-saver: since clients are often thousands of miles away, by eliminating the need for technicians to travel to remote clients, the company can save thousands of dollars.
