This Time.com article has some good points:
People other than college students who use Adderall: airplane pilots, business executives, writers, musicians
For people who are actually prescribed it, addiction rates are low
Addiction to Adderall can be subjective “Habits are not addictions, necessarily.”
Studies really do show that prescription stimulants “consistently and significantly improve learning of materials that may be recalled days later” while also improving judgement
Many people who use it are overachievers who want to do even better, only about 10% use it just to get high
The ending does give you something to think about, though. A man name Leo Krass makes the point that as humans, we must be able to “accept our finite limits”. So, using Adderall “cheats ourselves out of ownership to our own success and damages our sense of self.” What do you think about this?
