6/100 Days of Productivity - 06.07.2020 “If you really believe in what you're doing, work hard, take nothing personally and if something blocks one route, find another. Never give up.” - Laurie Notaro
study like sherlock:
- read. read. read. read everything about the topic you can get your hands on.
- know thy enemy. know the exam papers inside out, know how your teacher grades/words questions, know what they look for, know the content inside out.
- don’t be afraid to stop and think about your answer.
- talk aloud/teach someone else. who’s your watson? explain the material to them/use them to bounce ideas off of/use them so you don’t just look like a crazy person talking to yourself (... but talk to yourself anyway)
- look the part. looking put together and being well-dressed can be a big motivator. embrace the pretentiousness, invest in a good suit and long coat, and let the studious vibes flow.
- be self-serving. don’t try to change yourself for anyone else, especially not when it comes to your studies. don’t neglect your studies, or change the way you work because someone else critiqued it, you know yourself better than anyone.
Study Tips from Peter Parker
my last ‘study tips’ post got a lot of freakin notes so here’s another one! see my last post. this is inspired by me realizing i have three tests on monday, but all i want to do is annotate my sheet music for fun. how do i balance it?
- link what you like to what you study. take classes on things you’re actually interested in - things that will challenge you. you’ll begin to grow more curious as you study more of what you love.
- combine your hobbies with what you study. what are you learning about in chemistry class? how can you use that to improve your web fluid? ;) or what tv show are you watching right now & how would those characters react to the annexation of austria? what would they remember, what’s the most important part? parker builds computers and you can bet what he learns in that fancy school comes in handy.
- study, study, study. parker doesn’t go to a smart people school for nothing. but even if you don’t, that doesn’t mean you can let your classmates bypass you. at least not without a fight. study for every test, don’t let those opportunities pass you by.
- pull from people you look up to - i’m not saying tony stark’s slightly self-deprecating lab sessions are the way to go - but let yourself be inspired by your heroes’ work ethic and accomplishments.
- don’t forget to take a break, or take a walk. or swing from building to building fighting crime. whatever floats your boat. clear your head during a nice break.
feel free to add on!
5/100 Days of Productivity - 05.07.2020 Sunday... perfect day for study reviews! Lots of work here today, I’m proud of my achievements. For this new week I have to finish some old themes which are driving me crazy XD (Constitutional Law, why are you doing this to me?). I started to let some “study with me” channels on the screen while I am studying, some of them are interesting indeed, but my favourite “company” to study are the rainy/ambience sound channels! I am in love with New Bliss channel and Magical Ambience & ASMR Worlds channel too. I still like lo-fi (Chilledcow), however, these other channels are helping me to increase my focus while I am reading and studying. I do accept suggestions of other sound channels to studying/reading or profiles on Spotify (I enjoy listening to The French Whisperer on Spotify before going to sleep, it is amazing *-*).
I wish you all an excellent week!
