Progress of Using Multitasking Apps
After several weeks of testing out multi-tasking apps we still have not concluded which one is the best. Our current front runner is Symphonical, which is the only one that the whole office has been using.
We all love the organization this app has created for our office however selecting one app to use hasn’t been an easy task. When signing into the office and logging on to Symphonical we can see our tasks for the day and start work right away. Having the option to leave notes on each others responsibilities is another great feature we enjoy.
We still feel that Symphonical is missing a few things. We would like to have the option of a checklist. There is a feeling of accomplishment when you cross things off a list when you complete them. You can strikethrough the font to “cross it off” or delete the items once they are done in a note, but it has to be done manually by crossing it off or deleting. It would be nice to be able to check off the item and have it automatically go into a “finished” area that is viewable.
The automatic features are lacking in Symphonical at this point. Even when you check off an individual note as complete it doesn’t automatically go into the completed folder, you need to drag it. There should be more automation in the app.
An overview option would be really great too. For example, if Cole wants to make a list of everything the office needs to complete on Tuesday and she wanted to make one complete list this way we could all go through this list on the items that were ours and check them off. This is where Trello would in fact be better. It’s possible that this feature will be included into the Symphonical “Pro Plan” however how much will they be charging??
As we use Symphonical more, and realize what is missing it persuades us to try out Trello a little bit more and see if that is the missing piece and answer to all of our needs.
In retrospect of wunderlist, Cole has not used wunderlist at all since the trial period of that app ended. Cole was the only one to test this app out and she stands by her previous statement of just using it for personal stuff, i.e. keeping track of movies or music she wanted to listen to/watch.
When it comes to Evernote, Cole has not used it except for organizing symphonical with that information and to keep track of expenses during conferences. We believe there are benefits to using Evernote along with Symphonical, however we still need to explore more on this.
We are so close to finding the best app to use in an office to help with organization and multitasking! Check back next week as we get closer to wrapping up this study.
