Redesigning The New York State Flag
This one was a little but of a challenge, and I can see why my upstate fans might not like it.
New York’s current flag is simply a seal on a bedsheet, and its not even a good seal this time like Virginia or Oklahoma. For a start, I knew I had to incorporate orange and blue due to the states Dutch heritage, as well as the current colors of New York City, the 11 stars stand for, you guessed it, New York was the 11th state. The Empire State Building, one of New York’s most iconic landmarks, is where it gets tricky. Obviously this kind of centers the flags meaning on New York City, despite that the state is a lot more than just that. I couldn’t really find another symbol that represented New York so well however, so I went with it.
Flag of a United Korea
(flag requested by @impossiblymaximumcollection31b)
I figured the best way to go about this was to simply try and combine as many elements of each flag as I could. I realize this may upset people, and I apologize for it, but I did my best.
I used the colors directly off the North Korean Flag, and superimposed it’s star over the SK Yin Yang, but not without keeping the balance. I also adopted it’s borders, and then straightened out SK’s 4 element symbols.
Hope everyone likes it!
Redesigning the Flag of Illinois
When redesigning the Illinois state flag, I wanted to avoid any resemblance to the flag of Chicago, has too many redesigns focus on it far too much. Instead, I tried to exemplify its status as a midwestern state.
The blue represents the sky, as well as Lake Michigan. The buff represents the agriculture of the state, particularly its wheat and corn industry. The white line represents the many rivers that make up Illinois’ borders and heartland,
Another one of my favorite flags
Greenlands flag is by far one of my favorite flags in the world, it’s simple, using only two colors, yet manages to effortlessly portray the scene of a sunset. It’s the only Nordic controlled country without a Nordic cross, however it does using the colors of Denmark, to signify its place in the Danish realm.
Redesigning Oklahoma’s Flag
White Oklahoma’s seal is incredibly unique, and my second favorite in the country, it is not excused from my “All Seals Must Go” mission. I replaced the seal with a bison skull, the states official animal. I then changed the background to represent both a sun and a sky at once, and of course, I removed the writing. I also put it in a 2/3 ratio.
