How about rating flags of US states? So many are boring white or navy backgrounds w illegible, complex objects or text in center. For the record, I think these are best state flags for distinctness and interest: Maryland, New Mexico, Colorado. Texas would make my list but it’s so close to Cuba and Puerto Rico

My ratings would be pretty obvious, seal bad, not seal, good. I do think some states, despite having seals, are still pretty good flags, most notably Oklahoma and Virginia. 

Overall my favorite state flags are probably Alabama, Alaska, New Mexico, and South Carolina

Don't suppose you could redesign california mate?

I would, but legitimately all I would do to change it is to remove the big red letters, other than that I think it’s fine as it is.

A flag for the Celtic union?

This is my take on the flag of the celtic union! The symbol in the middle is a Triskelion, an ancient symbol of Celtic culture. The dividers are celtic knots, also celtic symbols. Each colour represents one of the 7 celtic nations, and is sampled directly from their respective flags.

The nations are, starting from the top left and moving clock wise:

Galicia, Ireland, Scotland, Cornwall, Mann, Wales, and Brittany

Hope everyone likes this, it took me quite a while and I know its still not perfect. Let me know if there's anything I could do better!

A new flag for Newport News, Virginia?

So as it turns out, Newport News, the city I go to college in, doesn't actually have its own flag, so here's my attempt to make one.

The wheel represents the absolutely massive impact that the navy and the shipbuilding industry has on Newport News. It's located only a short drive from the largest naval base in the world, and the shipbuilding industry employs a massive amount of its population.

The blue represents the James River, an incredibly important route to the cities livelihood. The green represents the massive amounts of biodiversity and conservation efforts being put into the area. The white represents the spirit of the people of Newport News.

The flag of Richmond Virginia

This is my hands down absolute favorite city flag. The 9 stars represent the 9 states that were made from Virginia’s former territories. The figure on the center is riding a “James River bateau” a boat famously used to transplant tobacco downriver. The blue represents the sky, and the red represents the James river.

Redesigning the flag of Oslo, Norway

This is my attempt to redesign the flag of Oslo, Norway.

The current flag simply features the city seal, which is totally unacceptable to me. My version takes the three arrows currently on the flag (representing Norway, Sweden, and Denmark) as well as the millstone and incorporates them into a singular figure at the center of the flag. The 2 colours used are taken directly from the original flag.

Tell me what you think! I know very little of Norway so please share if you believe I have done something wrong.
