My Study Tour with Manado Dinding Community
Hehe, so on Saturday, 1 February, 2025 I participated in a study tour by a community named Manado Dinding Community (Komunitas Dinding Manado), a community that provides non-formal education to poor children that is based in Bersehati Traditional Market in Manado City.
This is not the first time I have known about this community, I have known about it since I was in junior high or high school. I just had some free time now to join this community. This community activity is mainly every Saturday, so the volunteers teach what they want to teach to the children.
This study tour is one of the activities of this community and it is held once a year. I was lucky to be able to participate, yokatta. I like girls, they are easy to take care, not like most of the boys. I want to teach them English.
The first destination was the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, a parish under the Diocese of Manado. Of all the destinations, this is my favourite place, I love it. It was my first time I entered this parish, lovely. I will tell you more about this later.
The second destination was the Ahmad Yani Grand Mosque, the provincial church of the Province of North Sulawesi. It wasn't my first time there, I've visited it many times, so there's nothing special about it. We had lunch in this mosque.
The third destination was the GMIM Sentrum Church, the oldest church in Manado that built in 1677. It is a church of Christian Evangelical Church in Minahasa (Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa, GMIM). Well, the previous church was better.
The fourth destination was the Golden Waterpark Swimming Pool, an old pool, almost abandoned in my opinion. This is where we spent the longest time visiting. It's tiring watching the kids playing in the pool. I ate many biscuits here, provided by them.
Note that these photos are not in order of when they were taken. I will make another post for the photos I took myself. I have sorted these best photos that contain myself from 521 photos. So, thanks to Manado Dinding Community, it's nice to meet you mates.
