#study update

It has been an insane a couple of weeks and I've been playing the "study in random places" challenge. It feels like I've rarely studied in my own room.

What I've been up to:

Studying for my second quantum physics 2 test - this is one I'm most stressed for because I haven't been able to pin down the professor's style for tests and so I have no clue what to expect

Finished one 25 page lab report and now onto the next one - the labs are interesting, it's just a lot of hard work. I'm super lucky for getting a good lab partner though. We're unstoppable together

Submitted my mid-term assignment for philosophy of science, analyzing a science article from the perspective of Kuhn's account of science

Places ive studied so far = a school bus, at Niagara falls (was there for a work trip), multiple cafes

the end of an era

On May 23 I finished my undergraduate degree, somehow managing to double major in History and French with minors in Linguistics and International Relations. I’m so glad I got to go to the college I chose (and particularly grateful for scholarships!), because I got to meet and live with some very lovely people. The college I went to gave me access to the best academic experiences of my life: a summer internship working for my prof on an archaeological site in Türkiye & a 6 month semester in Paris, France.

I had plenty of hard times— I can’t say that I am a good student, but college has made me confident to say that I can be a good scholar. In September, I will be starting a masters program in Iron Age Archaeology, which I am genuinely thrilled about (and I hardly ever use that word). I expect that next year will be even harder academically than anything I’ve done so far, but I’m so excited to try.

This summer I won’t be doing much— I’m tutoring a couple hours a week, but other than that I’m just helping my mum clean up the house to sell. I will try to keep posting (mostly book stuff, research, and chores) and maybe try to get back into art.

10:00 kończę notatkę z makroekonomii, która wczoraj wieczorem zaczęłam. Teraz spisuje brakujące informacje do notatek z rachunkowości (sama teoria), potem czeka mnie prawo i robienie quizów, podatki i ponownie makroekonomia, ale tym razem obliczenia. Dzisiaj ma być bardzo gorąco i tylko ma się pogarszać w następujących dniach. Siedzę w schłodzonym domu i próbuje się uczyć. Zostało kilka dni do egzaminów semestralnych. Na późne popołudnie zostawiłam czytanie notatek

Took hindi literature as my general elective this semester. After reading this story, I really think it was worth it.

06.01.2025 you guys have no idea how long I’ve waited to post a gorgeous bowl of ramen🙂‍↕️

• Went to the lab and sort of finalized my model. I’ll go over some teeny tiny details tomorrow then start printing. I really need to lock in cause I want to be done by April. My productivity is so shit in the lab and I’ve concluded it’s due to the excessive lighting but there’s not much I can do about that.

• Worked on some Biomechanics Flashcards and general revision.

• I arranged for someone to look at the apartment. If she agrees to move in, I’m dragging her down to the office to sign the contract immediately. I’m not giving her a chance to get away lmao.

• I cleaned up a bit in preparation for tomorrow. Also my roommate has to pay rent for January so I get to stay till the end of the month while we find someone to move in. But she’s already paying for her new place so I offered to cover it but she said no🥹. I’ve been thinking of a gift to get her when she finally leaves cause she’s been so amazing and we’re hardly even friends.

• Finally decided to roll up my sleeves and start working on my thesis. But, alas, the template magically disappeared from the school website. So.

🌲: 49mins. My focus was so shit but I’m forgiving myself cause it’s my first day back on the grind😔

📖: A Little Life. I planned on giving page updates but I’m in bed and I don’t recall where I stopped lmao.

☀️: Had a study call with my sister that broke down into just catching up. Also called my brother and he shockingly gave me good advice. Spent some time with friends.
