Here is how I annotate books :) I use 4 colors of highlighters. Yellow for important points of the story line. Blue for topics which may be important for essays. Green is for questions I have or vocabulary which I don’t understand. Pink is for information abour persons. After each chapter I summarize it using post- it notes.
