#StudyWithBinnsChallenge Day 12: What is your favorite guilty pleasure stationery or “school supply” purchase?
(#StudyWithBinnsChallenge by @cuthbertbinns)
I unfortunately can’t find it right now, but my favorite supply purchase was a mini stapler! It’s mint green and small and very cute, and it’s also come in handy SO many times!
#StudyWithBinnsChallenge Day 16 & 17: What’s oh your to-do list today? What’s your background noise?
(#StudyWithBinnsChallenge by @cuthbertbinns)
Eep, I missed yesterday! Doing two today to make up!
My to-do list today was to:
Work on and finish Music History/Literature Project (FINISHED!!)
Clean the work desk (started but not finished yet)
Read more of Frankenstein and work on annotations (...so we might have skipped that one...)
Watch at least 5 Unus Annus videos to work on catching up (I think I did this??? Might have watched only 3 oops)
And as for background noise, I either go for music or mynoise.net generators! Currently, my background noise is “Hard 2 Breathe” from Achievement Hunter: The Musical, though typically I’ll go for a noise generator. Usually, that means mynoise.net’s Gregorian Choir generator!
#StudyWithBinnsChallenge Day 15: Shown me something autumnal.
Unfortunately I now have to call myself out and say that it’s not actually very autumnal where I live, oops. The trees have just the barest tint of yellow, and it’s actually still pretty warm out. I will compensate with a gif!

Day 14: What’s your favorite subject?
historically speaking i have been fond of history and language arts, but college is so different than anything i’ve experienced in the past. this semester im taking american sign language and i’m enjoying learning it as well as all about deaf culture so it’s definitely my favorite subject right now
#StudyWithBinnsChallenge Day 13: What’s in your pen case or book bag?
(#StudyWithBinnsChallenge by @cuthbertbinns)
Ok it’s like eleven over here so I’ll make this short, haha.
I haven’t gotten to use an actual pen case or book bag this year because of online school, but last year I had mostly pens in my pencil case (it’s blue with “Behold! The tools of a genius!” on either side), since I like to write in black ink unless it’s math (mechanical pencils for that), and I had mostly unorganized papers in my book bag (I did have binders, I just didn’t really use them, lol).
I also have a bunch of kinda useless things, like stick-on erasers that are just fun to play with, or scraps of paper with little doodles on them!

Day 9: How do you take care of your mental health? taking care of my mental health is crucial. i have severe anxiety, depression and ptsd, so i have to make sure i take my meds, get rest when i need it, take breaks when i need to and get proper nutrition. it helps to have accountability. my husband and i check in on each other since we’re both in school rn, we make sure the other has eaten and slept and stays hydrated. if we noticed one or the other has been sitting in their work for too long we suggest a break. there’s not much free time these days, but for me, sometimes just running an errand by myself for an hour or so can help me so much. the other day, i was feeling distracted, anxious and unproductive, so i went and got myself a starbucks, ran to target for something i needed, and then went to the bookstore and treated myself to three books. when i got back home, i felt a lot better and was able to focus and get some coursework done. maintaining mental health is so important, especially as a student, especially as a mother and especially in this time of covid and social distancing when we’re not able to study or even just check in with friends in ways we normally would.
i hope you’re all taking care of yourselves as well! check in and let me know how you take care of your mental health sometime, or tag me in your own posts #studywithbinns. Happy studying!
#StudyWithBinnsChallenge Day 9: How do you take care of your mental health?
(#StudyWithBinnsChallenge by @cuthbertbinns)
Music has always been the biggest comfort in my life for every occasion, so I have a few specific bands and playlists I listen to to keep my company for all of my many feelings.
I particularly love listening to Lemon Demon’s Spirit Phone album whenever I’m having school-related stress. For social-related stress or for general exhaustion of the soul, I tend to gravitate towards a few particular bands, like The Oh Hellos, Heilung, and Green Day.
I also have a private Google Doc set aside for rants and vents that allow me to air my grievances without involving anyone.
