A large stainless steel pin-like monument 120 metres (390 ft) in height, located on the site of the former Nelson's Pillar. In the foreground is a bronze statue of Jim Larkin, an advocate for workers right. An inscription on the statue has one of his most famous quotes: “The great appear great because we are on our knees. Let us rise!” Otherwise known as the Monument of Light sits in the heart of the city like modern art in the midst of neoclassical architecture.
