Did Josh actually punch Colin or is that just really good blocking?

Actor’s punch! The punching actor stops just short and the punchee jerks back/away at the right time and if it’s done right, it looks like the puncher’s punch was stopped by the punchee’s face and like the punchee’s backwards motion was caused by the punch.

Of course, sometimes one or the other of the actors goofs and someone gets hit on accident, but it usually doesn’t result in much injury, since the puncher is aiming to stop before hitting the punchee’s face, and the punchee is aiming to not be where the punch lands - so even if one of them misses their mark slightly, it’s usually more of a boop than a POW. But it does happen.

But generally, actors are never punched or injured at all for a scene.
