Once twice thrice fice ice thice thice ice stupice aice shice nice bice aice thice
They may not be much, but I'm proud of them, after many months my tomatoes grown from seed from my first #garden T_T I got these #stupice #tomato seeds (for free!) from the Mountain View Library back in the early spring. Six or so seeds sprouted, three made it to healthy seedling (I think one was straight up just eaten by a cat or something), two made it to the outside plot, and three made it to bearing fruit because somehow another tomato sprouted where I definitely didn't plant one but alright I'll take it. They are THE MOST DELICIOUS tomatoes - savory, juicy, and a little hardy of a skin. Not the best crop, but a success with lots of learnings to take to next year! (at Mountain View Public Library)

Time to make salsa and tomato sauce! Here is a variety of tomatoes that I picked from my garden over the weekend. I chose to pick alot of the big green ones and let them ripen in the house. Some will be used for fried green tomatoes others for sauce. It was a good summer for my tomatoes!
Growing Veggies in Containers
March 28, 2013
You can grow vegetables in containers. It's a simple, low risk, low investment option. A sunny patio, porch or balcony will do. Six hours of sun is ideal but some crops, like lettuce will thrive in less. If you live where the weather is still cool, lettuce is a good choice.
In summer, what could be easier than a tomato? Stupice is one of my favorites and does well in containers and on the coast. There's cherry and grape tomatoes too. Most nurseries sell tomatoes that do well in pots. (Photo credit: Renee's Garden)
To get started, read a brief garden article from LA County Master Gardeners, GROW VEGETABLES IN CONTAINERS.
Here's my son's winter rooftop vegetable garden in Downtown LA. This tub works for shallow-rooted crops. Read the "how to" here.
What do you grow in containers? Or what would you like to try?
