I hate technology so much sometimes. So last Friday I installed the latest version of gimp. But some .dll file thing got lost so UFRaw stopped working (so I couldn't open any of my RAW images). So I just did a system restore before I'd installed the latest gimp. So I opened gimp and UFRaw and thought everything was fine... but NO. The buttons were all weird and there was no "file-edit-layers-etc" across the top and when I right clicked the image it said there was an error and it couldn't find the menu or something. So now I'm installing gimp again. And I hope UFRaw still works.
I have to produce like 12 photos before the end of tomorrow. I can't so much as look at them unless UFRaw works, and I can't convert them to jpgs (to send them to my teacher) unless gimp works. Not to mention two projects are on photo editing itself.
This is why film photography was so much easier. I could understand all the variables and control many of them. I don't know much at all about how computers work. I['m pretty much just going on intuition and past experience. I want to understand this stuff so I can go right into my computer's programming and fix whatever error is occurring, just like I can change bad photo-developing chemicals.
