One thing i despise about the tf2 fandom is how they write demoman. Like they completely forget his character traits and personality and end up writing him horribly. Idk why they portray demoman as a stupid drunk when hes one of the most intellegent and sane out of all the mercs
Anyways demoman is a good character
I think it's a greater symptom of how people think abt addiction. You will very, very often, throughout fiction, see people write characters who are alcoholics or drug addicts as stupid and/or lazy and/or violent (not tf2 violent like serious violence). He often isn't extended the same nuance that people extend to other choice tf2 characters and it really really shows. I think overall "Fandom" or whatever has a "problem" w reducing characters down to one trait, but reducing a character to "likes bread a lot" is not comparable to reducing a character to "stupid drunk", with one being just kinda amateurish writing and the other being something that will affect how you feel about real people in similar situations. I think people are getting better about it but I still see it VERY flagrantly from time to time
is it weird that i think merasmus and medic would be a pretty good pairing? like theyre both somewhat magic and i just think it looks funny
the only bad thing is that they dont have any canon interactions
I had a handful of ideas about this awhile ago that I don’t remember now but the principle is still there. I think the core dynamic is that medic is indifferent and dismissive to merasmus’ existence and merasmus just fucking hates medic and does everything possible to fuck him up but of course he fails because he’s not a girlboss NOR is he a malewife.
given merasmus eventually gets over his blazing hatred for medic’s existence I think they’re a TERRIFYING duo. medic is mildly competent and offers to help merasmus with his magic and thsi is really really bad because the ONLY thing stopping merasmus from killing everyone and taking over the world is the fact that he is incapable of anything ever. medic’s definitely just using him for magic but merasmus has never had a real friend before that wasn’t soldier so every time medic shows a tiny little bit of cursory kindness to him merasmus is like 🥺👉👈 and it’s really sad. he’s soooo clingy. medic secretly appreciates the bestie but he wouldn’t say it. and then they make out

Yuuka, Elly, and Kurumi are very neat. I like to think that the only reason that Elly and Kurumi haven't shown up in a modern game is because they retired (alongside Yuuka, lol). This drawing took me a while to make and I don't like doing backgrounds.
