Easter’s coming up, and Shamy decide to add some science to that holiday. In the meantime, though, Howard’s hosting a Passover Seder and the rest of the gang are all invited.
Penny decided that she should have learned by now to not be surprised to find the kitchen full of petri dishes.
“Why is the kitchen full of petri dishes?”
She decided that she should also have learned not to ask that question.
“We’re cultivating bacterial cultures,” Amy told her, looking up from a petri dish with a green liquid on top of the petroleum jelly. “They’ve been genetically engineered to produce dyes of various colours.
“Easter’s coming up,” Sheldon said, as if that explained everything. “If we’re going to be painting Easter eggs, we might as well do some science in the process!”
“You could just buy the dyes from a grocery store,” Penny pointed out.
“Where’s the fun in that?” Amy asked.
Penny didn’t have an answer to that, so she turned and left Shamy to their science.
[Author’s note: I really hope I portrayed Passover well. If I got anything wrong, though, please let me know.
Anyway, I got the idea for this chapter from seeing posts about Passover, and one of those posts mentioned interfaith stuff like inviting non-Jewish people to the Seder, which gave me the idea for Howard inviting his friends to the Seder, hence this.
And I really appreciate the fact that I did decide to do something like this, because when a research for a fanfic idea means learning something about a culture or community - like when I was researching pride flags for an earlier chapter - is always a great thing to me.]
