Not all of this came out of my head. I got a lot of advice from other studyblrs.
1. On lesson, write your notes quickly, don’t pay attention to the aesthetics of it. Write down everything the teacher says/ writes on the board. You will later rewrite it neatly, and select the important. You can make the ‘messed’ version in an extra notebook, and have nice notebooks for each subject.
2. Put a short extract of the note text on the side of the page. (I do this with book plots on literature.) It will help you get quickly into something, and also, by writting this down, you will make things clearer and simpler for yourself.
3. Use washi tapes or just markers to divide pages into sections, don’t make your notes just a header + body text. You can play with it, put definitions in boxes, or bubbles…
4. Put keywords on top the page. It will be easier to remember what the notes were about when you revise for a big exam.
5. Before writing notes, make a color scheme. (e.g.- Pink highlither- headers and subheaders, purple sharpie- important info, grey mildliner- vocab)
