I’ve been thinking really hard about that conversation you can have with the developers after the changeling route and what it says about Daniil and Artemy. It talks about them in the context of the changeling route as people who failed to consider other options (therefore, only see their own ending as the right one) but who could, with the agency of the player, see beyond that.

Daniil choosing his own ending is seen as an act that comes out of his negative feelings. It ultimately is a decision of destruction and revenge. The ending the game recognises as him winning is giving that up.

Meanwhile, both of Artemy’s endings (termite or utopian, because of the whole thing about choosing what the udurgh is to him) are seen as a good option. The one who can attain true freedom, because while Daniil could miraculously defy his destiny, he did not have the freedom of both of his endings being “validated”.

“Any choice is right as long as it’s willed” is not really a representation of Artemy’s character; it’s a representation of his path. Same with “There is only one truth”; it’s about Daniil narrow-mindedness. This conversation solidifies that.

Since this happens on the changeling route, when Clara asks if they could “defeat them”, defeat the game, the executor says it depends on what they understood. Clara then goes on to say that:

Daniil found out he was a toy. The executor says he better have someone else in the cathedral, then, because it’s hard for him to change his mind unless it’s a momentary lapse of judgement.

Artemy didn’t understand anything. She deems he thinks himself as a hero, now, without having actually achieved the heroic feat the executor mentioned that prompted the conversation. He’s a hero when he has the freedom to make a choice, not when he goes down his predetermined path without consideration.

What i find really interesting about this is how Daniil and Artemy simultaneously are in and have to reject each other’s blindspots. Clara says Artemy does not really care about understanding the game, while Daniil cares too much about being a toy. Artemy’s own predetermined ending is rejecting the path set for him, and that’s what Daniil’s win would be. What the other inherently has is what the other needs and what they have to reject to win.

i have a Lot of headcanons in general about everything because i tend to switch between them. these characters are my dolls and each time they act a certain way. BUT regarding transfem artemy i usually either think about her transitioning post plague or before the plague at the capital and that’s the . main two scenarios

regarding transitioning post plague i think she realises during the game events when she’s reconnecting with her culture… i really like a nocturnal ending approach in the rare occasion i have patho 2 in my brain But i’m sooo classicpilled so. termite ending where she rejects her duty as a menkhu and chooses love not only for aglaya but for herself!! rejecting the role she was expected to play as isidor’s son and heir

also burakhovsky wise i think she would either be like “heyyy would you mind if i wear white at our wedding? white suit, yeah, haha, what about a white dress-?” in a stablished relationship scenario or daniil leaves the town and when he comes back she’s transitioned and he’s like Wowww i didn’t think i liked women but …

anyways i alsoooo think it’s cool if she transitioned before during her years at the capital. she thought “i’m starting a life in a different place, how do i want people to perceive me?” and after a little introspection she was like oh i’m a girl actually . and then she comes back home and everyone knows her as a version of her that’s not really her and has these expectations and ways of seeing her because of her assigned gender at birth and heritage and she was so much happier after leaving behind. back in the fucking building again.

so yeah i think about her a normal amount. [<- person who doesn’t have specific headcanons so they just infodumped abt their thoughts in general] . well now i’m wondering if people see my blog and think Wow that’s the Transfem Artemy guy

okay i'm a danblock truther for life but the concept of peterblock is very curious to me, would love to hear more of your thoughts about it. also given how you mentioned it happened because of tomodachi life i have to know: which one of them did you make a woman in order for it to happen? or are you playing with that one same sex relationships mod? i've tried to make it work in my game but it just made the emulator crash every time lmfao so in order to make danblock real i made block a #girl. artemy was also a girl but unfortunately daniil dgaf about either of them 😑 tomolife is so brutal... but at least block and clara became besties. and then worsties. and then i stopped playing. but anyway. peterblock?

hiii i am playing with the same sex relationships mod!! also crashed for me so i spent two hours on reddit and discovered the crash happens if you don’t have a copy of the game extracted from the original nintendo one, so then i had to also search up how to get a good copy for the emulator from my nintendo… and then it didn’t work bc i had to extract the updates too… but when i discovered how to do that it worked! and peterblock became real. if not it would’ve probably been block so i could give him dresses But instead he’s set on wearing the worst combo of hawaiian t-shirt and sun hat that doesn’t even remotely match 😐 he’s besties with aglaya which is funny.

but Yeah peterblock. i would’ve never thought about it if not for tomodachi bc i just shipped block with daniil but alas. i’ve always been partial to crackships anyways. i had been thinking about clara’s route and how the two alexanders of the game have such opposite relationships with her, which prompted me to think waittt saburov Hates peter… so the opposite with block would be peterblock like on tomodachi… and then i started thinking abt them in relation to clara and grace and it was over for me.

then i thought hmmm they could meet in canon if daniil introduced them at the broken heart. his old friends from the capital all together in this random town. in a termite ending situation so the polyhedron is destroyed and they’re all not feeling the best. daniil and the twins go back to the capital with the army, and they all get to know each other better during the trip. if it’s post bachelor route the twins are mad at daniil for choosing artemy’s ending and if it’s post haruspex they’re mad at block for choosing to bomb the town. then different scenarios could unfold.

in an utopian/humble ending situation, i was thinking daniil talks to block about being able to save the polyhedron and how marvellous it is and then introduces him to peter who built it… and block is awestruck like wow. so many miracle workers in this town. clearly God led me here for a reason.

also kind of meta-ish but i was considering the fact that block alongside aglaya and the healers is one of the characters that have no portrait quotes… i think peter could maybe do some breaking the fourth wall thing and also be like “yes there’s something different and special about you”.

really like the angst possibilities too. two people who could be exactly what the other needs or be too unstable to handle a relationship. listening to black star by radiohead and thinking Wow this too could be peterblock if i try hard enough.

so in conclusion i have a lot of thoughts for each ending that’s what i get for being classicpilled. thank you sooo much for the ask i get really excited when i get to talk about it. in the next special let me introduce you to peterblockniil-

when i started playing patho i liked artemy but i thought i was going to like the utopians more and daniil would be my favorite character And now my top 3 are artemy aspity and oyun . never underestimate your first impressions

so yeah peterblock and i have a long history and by that i mean they randomly fell in love in my tomodachi life island and i was like waittt why is this lowkey fire.

after further deliberation to see how the ship would go in canon i realised they could actually fulfill each other’s needs pretty well.

so. block is a war hero who is, as seen in his sudden obsession with clara, looking for a miracle and a life purpose. he also offers to help her regarding people going after her; he gives protection in exchange for being given someone to idolise.

on the other hand peter is someone who can build miracles, but needs a good environment. neither grace (being a child) nor andrey (being well . andrey) can offer him this.

so where i’m going with this is: block is someone who can take care of peter (unlike grace) and peter can give block that sense of “divinity” willingly (unlike clara who is after all someone forced into that position)

there’s also a bunch of possibilities for their initial dynamic and development of the ship since they don’t have a canon dynamic, which is always a plus in my book. i was going to list some ideas But i realised i have too many to redact something oh well.
