Finished playing WRBC from the Sacrarium series by Stygian-Eye-Stories and wanted to draw my version of the mcs again lol (At least the ones for the currently released games)
I've drawn Keybell and Voidlight before. Links to those pics here and here. (Keybell is basically unchanged. Though I did give my Voidlight a MUCH better haircut lol) But this is the first time drawing Truthlight.
Choosing the Truthlight's gender was surprisingly difficult lol At first I played them as a woman (because I am a woman and I default to that the first time I play these kinds of games.) Then I tried male, then female again, and I couldn't really make up my mind.
I even drew a feminine version of Truthlight and left it up to which version I liked more visually. In the end, I kind of fell in love with my masculine Truthlight's sideburns lol so masculine it is. Though I'll probably choose they/them pronouns for them from now on in honor of the gender confusion they put me through.
I also couldn't resist drawing baby Truthlight (preteenish age)
Posted my Keybell, now here's my Voidlight, Jaiden.
Again, sticking to the default name because naming things is hard and I hate it.
Also again, on the left is 'how it started' and on the right is the 'how it's going' picture. Apparently, if VL survives, they essentially become Davy Jones so I needed to give her a hat. I hate drawing hats so fuck you VL for making me draw one. (What's that? 'I didn't have to draw anything?' Shut up. Davy Jones needs a hat.)
The Voidlight is competent and jaded, but with a deeply ingrained kindness/vulnerability that their tragic experiences haven't quite extinguished. They also hunt down and kill slavers and that's pretty awesome.
Whereas I think Heimos and Keybell work best as an 'opposites attract' kind of situation, with Voidlight I think she works best by complementing the established dynamic Violo and Vivere already have. She's just crazy enough to fit in with them, but not too crazy as to start dissecting people and turning them into flesh golems.
Recently, a post by Stygian-eye-stories said that Violo's and Vivere's 'forms of marking' were piercings and scents. It made me think that VL would come up with some kind of perfume or scented oil to wear. Nothing too strong, but it would be something specific and custom made that she could wear, and another little thing Violo can use to perceive her. (Not that he needs it, just that it's nice to do, I guess?? xD) She wouldn't know a lot about that kind of thing so Vivere would probably have to help her make it. (I don't know anything about that either because I'm sensitive to smells, and if I use a too strong-smelling shampoo, I can give myself a migraine, so I have no idea what it would smell like)
Another random fact that doesn't matter, she'd love coffee and chocolate. More specifically, dark chocolate. (She doesn't have a sweet tooth and likes it bitter- it suits her personality lol) I think in the 'before times' she probably splurged to get coffee fairly often, but chocolate was something she only had a handful of times, but loved.
Also drew Violo and Vivere. I don't think I did them justice.
I got into the Sacrarium series lol So here's my Keybell. I'm gonna do the same thing I do for dragon age and just keep the default name because I hate naming things xD
So first, my Keybell, Cass. On the left is 'how it started' and on the right is 'how it's going' xD
On the left, I considered having him wear all browns, like the rest of his village, but decided to give him a shawl in the same color as Edith's scarf, as if she had made it for him.
The cloak he's wearing on the right is the gift from Heimos made for him in the one shot that Stygian-eye-stories wrote. The cloak actually made me want to draw him in the first place. Though I don't think I did it justice. Fur interior, silk exterior covered with mana stones and dyed in Keybell's favorite colors. (Honey yellow, sky blue, and white in this case)
Most of the history of the MCs and even large swaths of their personality are pretty well established. Keybell is curious, sweet, and surprisingly confident. Like telling a living god 'of course your clothes look good, I'm wearing them' is so fucking funny. And then flirting with them pretty blatantly, only a couple of weeks after meeting him? Calm down, Casanova xD
He's 5'6", so around average height under normal circumstances, but still tiny compared to Heimos lol. I made him heavier set and gave some burns, mostly on his hands and one on his face. I don't think baking came naturally to him, and it took a lot of trial and error. Especially since his parents died before they could really teach him. He had to figure a lot of it out on his own.
Also drew Heimos for shits and giggles.
Will also be posting my Voidlight in, like, 2 minutes as well.
This is my oc Jameson as a Winter cultist. He’s a character I'm extremely fond of, so imagining him in this universe was fun.
I talked about him a bit when I drew my Spring cultists but this is another D&D character that I think would make a good Winter crow. Though you might not think so at first. This character's had quite a few names. He has his birth name that he hates for being too pretentious. He's gone by Jack, too. I think this version will stick to Jameson.
Backstory below again lol
Jameson's D&D backstory is that his dad is technically royalty. But the kind where literally thousands of people would have to die for him to even be considered for any noble title. His dad had a score of bastards, but Jameson was the only son he was aware of. While his dad saw him as a passing interest to drop by to see on occasion, his mother saw him as an object to put on display and brag about. She was not a good mother or person.
Eventually, Jameson ran away from home in the middle of the night. He chose a bad night for it, couldn’t see anything and ended up falling down an abandoned well. He was down there, chest deep in tainted water, for almost three days before an old druid found him and saved him. During the days after, when Jameson was violently ill, the old man stayed by his side the entire time and helped him recover. It was the first time Jameson ever felt like someone cared about him. Afterwards, Jameson would beg to be taught to be a druid, desperately wanting a higher purpose and to help people the way he was helped.
This background, like my flower cultist Jinx, would be much the same. The biggest difference being the old healer pulling ten-year-old Jameson out of the well would be a Winter Crow.
I don't quite remember if it was ever said how Heimos chooses Winter Crows or blackened crows, but there is one thing that I think would make Heimos hesitate in choosing to accept Jameson as a winter crow (let alone a blackened one). While he's a very kind (in that soft tsundere way), driven, and dedicated person, he starts out VERY hot-headed. And choosing violence isn’t something crows can do. It would probably take time, but I like to think (once he got a little older and a better hold of his temper) he’d have proven himself to be worthy of it.
(A self indulgent idea I just thought of is that Jameson might remind my Keybell a bit of Edith and it made him very fond of the boy. Maybe that scarf is a little gift from KB)
Though his crow, and whoever his babysitter is (hound, flower, or whoever), probably smacked him upside the head or poked him in the eye a few times just to be safe.
He, of course, chose his neck for the place to put the mark. Mostly a reference to wounds he got in the campaign he was in, but also because he would want people to know what he is.
A fun fact about him that doesn’t really fit anywhere, after he fell into the well, he developed horrible aquaphobia. He has extreme nausea when submerged or drenched in water. He does stay clean, but his rag baths can take a long time. Riding on a ship in the ocean might actually kill him. (Lucky he can't die then)
He is also a mom friend and is actually really good at taking care of himself and others around him. Making sure everyone is eating and taking care of themselves. Though he still would end up overworking himself, helping people. But that just comes with the job.
