Aesthetic Ensembles: Four Fashion Mistakes You Should Not Overlook
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." -Coco Chanel
Regardless of how much of a self-proclaimed fashion-forward individual you are, we are all still susceptible to making a few style blunders here and there. Not to fret, however, as no one has the monopoly of knowledge when it comes to style and fashion after all. In this regard, there is still so much room for learning.
However, fashion faux pas should be taken to mean beyond bending the so-called rules on fashion such as which prints and colors would match and which ones would not. It extends beyond the context of wearing out of season clothes or wearing tacky trends and ill-fitting garments. While those might be clear fashion infractions to some, they are what we would consider as conventional fashion oversights. They are insignificant, easily remedied and can be overlooked at best. However, the same cannot be said about overspending for a myriad of clothes that you would wear twice in the maximum and forget about the rest of the year. These are the fashion mistakes that would require us to take a closer look beyond our fashion habits, but our spending ones as well. It does not matter whether the wholesale bob marley store just significantly marked down their items, if you are constantly spending for clothes you do not even regularly wear, you would need to address the problem head on.
In any case, here are the little known fashion flubs that you should never overlook:
1.) Shopping frenzy
We have all been there at some point in our lives. A big event is looming over us and we just have to be well-dressed for the occasion. It does not matter whether it may be someone's wedding, grand senior party, high-school reunion and the like, so long as if it is an event big enough to warrant a new sartorial ensemble, you would find yourself rising to the occasion. While events such as these would definitely be an excellent excuse to go shopping for a new dress or outfit, it is not always the best tack to take. Take a gander at the contents of your closet first before checking out boutiques and retail shops. You might not know it, but there is a likely chance that you have a hidden gem in there which you could wear. After all, you do not necessarily need to buy something new EVERY SINGLE time a new event pops up. Just think of the dresses you would inevitably hoard in a year if this were the case.
2.) You go nuts for markdown sales
You are the first to hear about a particular retail shop or boutique's special sale, discount and offers insomuch that you would also be the first customer in attendance. Unfortunately, markdowns would cause you to lose your mind completely and any rational thought as you begin piling clothes into your basket without really giving them any second thought. As a result, you would often find yourself with clothes you do not need nor want.
3.) You do not do preventive maintenance for your footwear
A fashion oversight most women are guilty of is failing to render preventive maintenance and routine rehab of their footwear. Consequently, they would have pairs upon pairs of shoes that are beyond repair which includes but is not limited to damaged leather and trashed soles which would all culminate to an early shoe death. In this regard, women would be constrained to buy even more shoes to replace those the pairs that are beyond repair. To avoid this, always treat your new shoes with a lightweight, breathable and water stain-repellent even before your first wear. Apart from ensuring its longevity, doing preventive maintenance on your shoes is actually cost-effective as you would no longer have to buy shoes as often.
4.) Disorganized Closet
I think there is more than a handful of us who can relate to this dilemma. We all have too many clothes and a too little closet which would compel us to pile several clothes into one hanger, overstuffing our drawers and basically just cramming everything inside until it fits. When our closet doors are closed, everything looks perfect, but the moment it is opened, you would see almost all of its insides spilling out. Not a pretty sight, and definitely not the best way to get dressed. You might think that having a closet full of clothes would give you limitless sartorial options, but this is hardly the case. After all, would you want to sift through every article of clothing you have in your closet just to mix and match your ensembles? Not likely. In this regard, you would be constrained to wear the clothes that you can immediately find on top of the humongous pile or repeat the same ensemble over and over again.
