I’m really going to have to get myself in gear now that awards season is upon us - this is the first chance I’ve had to blog about the Screen Actors Guild awards on Sunday(!)..

Honestly though, after seeing Margot Robbie in Miu Miu, quite frankly there’s just no need to mention anybody else (no offence). Margot was nominated for Outstanding Performance for ‘I, Tonya’, also setting the trend for a parade of pale blush gowns, but she just stunned in Miu Miu, combining a little eccentricity with a truckload of elegance, complimenting her dress perfectly with tonal, paired-down makeup and a just-got-out-bed bob. And let’s face it, when you’re that sickeningly beautiful, what more do you need than that? She is perfect.

NOT-SO-MELLOW YELLOW

Yellow is the colour right now. And as my obsession for buying every pair of trousers under the sun continues, my new rib kick flare leggings from Miss Selfridge satisfy my every fashion need rn. We threw a huge surprise birthday party for my Mum last week (successfully pulled off, somehow!), the perfect time to pull out the trousers. I paired them with a black sheer shirt which I unbuttoned and styled bardot for a cheeky bit of shoulder, and slicked my hair back straight. For my makeup I toned down my usual smokey eye, amped up my flicks and lashes and chose a red lip to make my yellow really pop.

For daytime I’m gonna be wearing these with trainers, logo tees and any one from my puffer jacket collection.

FEELING RED

Incase you haven’t quite got the memo yet: red is this seasons it colour, and for all of us who’ve invested already there’s great news because autumn/winter is all over it too! So I’ve pulled together this transitional look to tide me over through the rest of August which is feeling more like October right now 😒 I am all over miss Selfridge (apart from my old sale-find bargain topshop sandals). I love the fresh take on the biker jacket, and red is classic, so you can invest in this as a wardrobe staple. And the denim culottes, I just can’t take them off right now, they go with everything! ALL BLACK NIGHT

I was back on my holidays last week and feeling fully depressed right now, so to cheer myself up I'm reminiscing on my outfits..

The first night was black night - which isn’t difficult when 90% of your wardrobe is black - and it was the perfect opportunity to bust out my Topshop mermaid frill flares. I’ve been waiting two months to wear these! These are my ultimate bargain dream trouser! The shape is super flattering, and even though they’re fitted like leggings, they pull you in nicely in the right places. I’ve seen other girls wearing these daytime with flats which I’d love to do, but I’m way too short. At 5'2" I’d just drown in them teamed with trainers so I’ve been waiting for a chance to get them on with a pair of heels. I wore them with a bandeau crop to keep the summer vibes, and the ruffling balances out the fullness in the trousers too. I finished it all off with a choker and lace-up heels, of course.

CLASSIC TWIST

I’ve been so lazy on the blog recently, so much summer and holiday planning 🙈 I’ve still found time though to pull together some key summer looks to talk about.

First up, gingham.

This classic print comes round in the style cycle again and again, and this summer it’s EVERYWHERE. But the staple every girl needs in her wardrobe right now is the gingham skirt. Short, long, fitted, floaty, and in all different colours, the choice is yours, but my personal favourite is the ruffle midi. Miss Selfridge have offered us the perfect option, at a perfect high street price point too (at £35 it’s a steal compared with what else is out there).

My favourite way to style a skirt like this is to contrast the girly vibes with a bit of a streetwear edge, keeping it casual with a logo tee and trainers. (The one I’m wearing is actually a tshirt dress so it’s a perfect two-in-one buy). Everyone knows I live in my old skool Vans too, so I’m all over this look.
