Styling Lace

Lace is a very intricate and delicate fabric that has been considered very old-fashioned up until now. In recent years, the styling concepts of ‘night-wear’ and lingerie has transitioned into everyday wear. However, it can be quite easy to look like you’re off to bed so keep reading to see how you can style lace to dress it up.

Because lace can be viewed as a really delicate and intimate fabric, grunging it up with some tough textures can help make the lace look appropriate for daytime. Try pairing a lace top or skirt with a leather jacket or some combat boots to add a bit of grunge, attitude and personality to counteract the delicate intricacy of lace. Mixing durable textures with lace is a juxtaposition of two completely different extremes and yet it works so well.

If you don’t want to grunge up your style, you can pair pieces like lace bralettes with tops where the lace will peep through. Not only is this a really cute look, but it will make your outfit a lot more interesting by adding texture.

In addition to this, you can wear some delicate jewellery to accentuate the intimacy of lace. Simple necklaces, bracelets and rings will pair really well lace and with durable textures like distressed denim and untreated leather.
