My god, she’s like the exact inverse of the Ruby Squad. She’s so delightfully, irrepressibly horrible that I can’t handle how happy she makes me.
Aquamarine’s reaction to Rose Quartz is interestingly different from the others we’ve been witness to. Eyeball and Jasper raged. They’d found the person who killed their god. Every second of Eyeball’s fury in Bubbled was righteous--she’d come face to face with the worst criminal in Gem history and she was going to get justice. She giggled about getting a reward, sure, but she’s a low-class gem with no other opportunities to better her life, so you can’t really blame her for that, and most of her focus was on what Rose did.
Aquamarine doesn’t give a shit about what Rose did. The Rose Quartz! My, if that isn’t a ticket to a life of luxury. She doesn’t care about hurting “Rose.” She cares about delivering "her” to the Diamonds and getting her paycheck. Er, well, whatever reward she’ll get in a society like theirs, anyways.
She wouldn’t be Aquamarine if she didn’t stop to taunt, though.

Hrm. I wonder, is this a spark of genuine compassion? A glimmer of friendship? Or does she just know that if she can play her cards right, she’ll have this hanging over Topaz’ head forever? Apparently they’ve been partners for a long time, so I’m going to leave that one up in the air. It could be any of the three. You know, it’s probably actually all three.
