Oh, I never posted this photo! I went to Portcon a month ago and literally the first thing that happened was me spotting these Rose and Greg cosplayers. She made that dress from scratch, by hand! It was a wonderful start to the weekend.

Someone in chat described Steven’s problem as “needing to light himself on fire to keep others warm to feel good about himself”.   I wonder how we can work cactus-hugging into an alternate version of that.

It is SO important that Connie be the last one to speak, here, that she be the capper on all this love.  Because they do love each other, even if they haven’t said it out loud yet.  She gets him.  She gets him better than his dad.  She gets him better than the Gems.  She understands, and she appreciates him, and their bond is strong even when he’s in the throes of the worst pain of his life.  She’s there for him, she’s been there for him even when he tried to pretend he didn’t need it, and she’ll still be there for him no matter what.
