Update from the Main

So a lot has been happening behind the scenes as we draw closer to the end of summer.  And more it to come!!

 The first and only new update is that all Club and Sports meeting times are posted. GO check out them out to see who and when your clubs/sports meet. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT AND WILL COME INTO PLAY WITH THE NEXT CHALLENGE. THIS CHALLENGE IS MANDETORY FOR YOUR ACTIVITY

Secondly we will reopen male apps Friday July 21st [ ANY AND ALL APPS RECIEVED BEFORE THIS DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE FOLLOWING ACCEPTANCE DATE ]

Still to come

1) The Course Catalog will be fully functional before the semester begins [ August 23rd ]. There will be a challenge associated with this so keep a look out for more information soon.

2) The society house layouts, roommate forms, and designs will be ready Friday, July 21st by 10 PM MST [AZ ]

And Update from the Admins

Dear friends and members of SU,

After more than two years, several revamps and a lot of ups and down, it’s time to close the doors on SHIELD University for the foreseeable future. We’ve had an amazing run and we’re not just saying that. We’ve learned many lessons we’ll take with us in the future and grown together as people, admins, and rpers—writing characters we adore, pushing them, how to make a rp stay afloat, working with different people, the list is endless. While we’ve had our share of drama, we’ve moved past it and continued to look to the future. Some of you were with us from the start, from other iterations, and some of you are newer to the SU family. We made friends IC and OOC, forged relationships we’ll remember and made plots we’ll never forget.

Though we may never forget SU, we as the admin team feel it’s time to close the book on our part of this story. After all this time, all the love for the things we’ve done and created in this University has not diminished, but rather has changed to holding onto nostalgia than moving forward as an RP. All good things come to an end eventually and we strongly believe that it’s time for us to let go. Everyone who has stuck around this long, we thank you and welcome you to post your final goodbye threads throughout the week [ official doors on SU and the discord will be closing August 2nd ] to wrap up and say your own goodbyes. We encourage you to keep moving forward, keep developing your characters. For anyone in the RP or who has ever been part the SHIELD Uni iteration family, we hope we will have the chance to RP with you again in the future and will stay in touch with those we can. It has been an honor, a blessing to write with each and every one of you and we will miss it.

Should anyone wish to get in contact with the admins, shoot us a message within the next few days and we’ll be happy to discuss a way to contact us outside the RP. Should anyone wish to take up the SU mantle in the future, we wish you luck and will gladly offer our support and blog.

Male Ban as of July 10th

To even out the extremely out of proportion ratio of males to female, we'll be placing a ban, as of July 10th at 5 PM MST [ Az ] on male app and characters until otherwise stated.

Updated Rule;

Okay, so this wasn’t really a rule to begin with, but it was implied with every RPs general ‘be realistic’ guideline. It’s regarding pets. They’re allowed on campus, everyone needs a companion, but you still need to think this through. Your character (including teachers) live in a dormitory. Two bedrooms, a confined space, no yard (campus grounds do not count) and dormitories below you that can hear if you stomp too loud.

Think about all of that and six animals crammed in.

Most apartments in America have a limit of two pets, and we’re going to implement that here. Your character may have two pets that roam freely. That means they can have two dogs, two cats, or one of each. We’re not limiting things like goldfish, a hamster, a snake, etc. But, again, be realistic. Would your character really have six hamster cages?

And, please don’t take this as ‘two per person’. If your character is living with someone, it’s still only two per household.
