i think part of spencer finds it endearing that ian went under so fast but another part of him is very worried and he ends up putting a hand on ians shoulder to get him to concentrate and ian makes a soft sound as spencer goes "you with me?" and ian nods and has this really dopey smile on his face which is only half reassuring and i think spencer says something along the lines of "i dont think we can do this right now, ian" in a apologetic but firm voice which makes ian flinch (1/2)

and he looks five seconds away from crying before spencer pulls him and goes "hey, hey, it's okay, forget what i said" and ian goes "wanna be good" as he rubs his cheek on spencers shoulder and spencer is really trying to rack his brain bc someones already side eyeing them and thats when spencer pulls back, much to ians discontent, and says "you wanna be good for me? can you get me a glass of water?" and ian nods quickly and goes off to the bar (2/2)

Spencer watches him closely, but Ian’s always good with direct tasks when he’s like this, and the public factor doesn’t seem to affect him at all because less than a minute later, Ian is weaving his way through the crowd and presenting Spencer with his glass of water, a shy smile on his face. Spencer takes the glass with one hand, and lightly touches Ian’s hip with the other. “Thank you, you were so good,” he says softly

yes exactly i was thinking about a scene where panic is at this event, maybe an album release party or something, and theyre taking a photo and spencer has his arm around ians neck and is sort of rubbing a thumb into his collar bone very innocently but ian immediately sighs and sort of slumps against spencer who doesnt think anything of it until after the photos taken and he turns to look at ian whos got this sleepy look on his face and is also softly whining bc spencers not touching him anymore

YES and Spencer’s immediately like ‘oh SHIT’ because he recognizes Ian’s behavior but he’s never seen it outside of their sex life and he’s like “Ian,” and Ian just whines at him louder bc Spencer’s arm around him and that thumb against his collar bone were grounding him so much

Ian going into subspace very easily at very inconvenient times and Spencer having to subliminally praise/reward him so ian doesnt get upset

OH MY GOD YES it’s very easy for Ian to slip and after the first time Spencer has to be so aware of the signs and keep Ian close to him and he has to ask Ian to do simple things that won’t arouse suspicion and then praise Ian for them (which usually gets him a couple weird looks when he asks Ian to like, retrieve his own phone from his bag and then calls him good for doing so)
