Pairing: Seo Changbin (Stray Kids) x fem!reader
“Hey,” Changbin huffed and turned to look at you with betrayal clear in his pretty eyes.
“I didn’t finish that page yet.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his pout: he was just so cute that you wanted to take him in your arms and never let go. It just felt right to do so.
“Good that you told me then darling,” you said clearly amused, and he huffed again turning around with a faint blush on his cheeks.
You, however, had a perfect view on his deeply red ears while he finished the previous page hurriedly.
“Okay I’m done,” he announced excitedly and turned to you once again.
To Changbin’s utter surprise you suddenly leaned forward and placed a sweet kiss on his lips. This time you laughed fully at the face he made.
“Babe,” he whined, but the look he gave you was so full of adoration that you also flushed brightly.
Changbin wasn’t the one to hide his feelings, but sometimes it still amazed you how much he loved you. You could only hope that he saw how much you loved him in return.
“If you’re going to kiss me like that, we won’t finish this book in the next five years,” he chuckled while shaking his head.
His soft hair tickled your chin.
“Okay, okay, I won’t do that any more,” you cheekily answered to which he stabbed your left thigh with a finger in a sign of protest.
“That’s not what I meant,” he sighed and leaned back on your chest once again.
With a smirk you started to place pepper kisses on his neck.
“Babe,” his complaint turned into quiet moan when you sucked on the sensitive skin.
You only smiled gently and let go. You liked to tease him more than anything, but those rare moments of peace when he didn’t have to work weren’t worth it. Not when he unconsciously pushed himself harder into your body trying to find a comfortable position while still being as close as possible. He once told you that being close to you made him feel completely safe, and you still remembered how you couldn’t hide a goofy smile. Even now it appeared on your face at the mere thought.
“Say, why he didn’t choose the other way?” Changbin asked clearly invested in your favourite book.
“That would be a huge spoiler babe,” you chuckled and placed a kiss on the top of his head.
“Well okay. Seems like I'll have to find out by myself,” he murmured already back into the book’s world.
You smiled fondly when he started to play with your fingers absently. You loved your hard-working man with his charismatic stage presence, but this sweetheart sitting between your legs made your heart swell even more. He wasn’t doing anything special – just reading a book after all, but he simply was and that’s enough. His very being made you sappy as hell, really, especially when he was smiling – it was impossible for you to not smile back. Changbin wasn’t a classic beauty, however, for you, he was the most beautiful man in the whole world, and you never let slip an occasion to remind him about that.
“I don’t understand,” he said suddenly and turned to face you.
He looked pretty perplexed.
“Why on earth can’t he tell them how he really feels about it?”
“Well, not everyone can express their feelings easily. Some people need time and some need to be encouraged to confess what they think or feel.”
“Oh, okay. I mean I knew that, but I just thought that in fictional world characters aren’t so...”
He scratched his head while searching for the right word.
“Relatable?” you suggested with a chuckle.
He rolled his eyes with a smile.
“Now I come off as if I didn’t read a single book in my life.”
He shook his head slightly with a chuckle.
“Nonsense darling. Authors obviously create countless characters and most of them are different so you don’t have to relate to every single one of them.”
“That’s the point,” he sighed.
“I can’t really sympathize with this guy because I wouldn’t act this way. Leaving things unsaid is such a waste of time and opportunities for me, you know.”
“Well I like this in you,” you simply shrugged with another smile.
Honestly, you weren’t even sure if there was someone in your life who made you smile this much. At this point your face should hurt, really.
“I know,” he said only, but words weren’t needed.
The very way he looked at you told you everything. He turned around so you hugged him from behind placing hands on his abdomen. He entangled fingers with yours.
“I love you,” you said quietly, but surely.
You weren’t saying it often, but when you did you meant it.
He turned his head just to wink at you. You could swear that he would have made fingers guns if only his hands weren’t occupied.
“Who wouldn’t,” you snorted, and he laughed only coming back to the book.
“I would be an idiot to not love you too,” he said softly, and you placed a kiss on the top of his head wordlessly.
“We deserve each other then,” you chuckled, and he squeezed your hand in the answer.
