Subaru fell in love with Hajime while listening to him sing quietly while they were doing a side job together
Hajime was singing one of the (then) unreleased Ra*bits songs
Hajime fell in love with Subaru a bit after. It was late and dark when they were both going home from school one day. Subaru offered to walk him home, and Hajime couldn't resist how handsome he was in the moonlight
Hajime realized he had a crush once he got home. It was pretty immediate, since he's surprisingly in-tune with his emotions
It took Subaru an *insane* amount of time to get it
He didn't even get it himself.
Trickstar told him. After practice during a cool down.
No one starts a rebellion because they saw a cute boy cry. No one but Subaru Akehoshi. Apparently they saw that before him. Everything really fell into place for Subaru after that, he was honestly really happy to realize. He loves being in love with Hajime.
Subaru wasn't subtle about his crush at all, not before he realized and not after. He just never outright said his feelings. He never wanted to make Hajime uncomfortable!!
Hajime definitely tried to push his crush down, but with a lot of hyping up from ra*bits, he decided to be discreet and slowwwlyyy slowwwwwlllyyyyy get more and more obvious
It was painful for any yumenosaki student to watch them dance around each other and flirt
They were and still are the most sickeningly sweet people you will find at yumenosaki/ES
Hajime technically confessed first, but Subaru didn't get it
Hajime's letter in 'mail delivery' was in fact a love letter!! But it was written a little too interpretive...
Subaru was right when he first read it! He assumed it was a love letter and they were ALMOST a couple!! But... the more Subaru thought..... the more he convinced himself that it could never be true and Hajime only saw him as a supportive senior..
So, alas, it took Subaru confessing face-to-face for them to be official
After tea club, Subaru confessed to Hajime outside of the school. He couldn't take how cute he was anymore and just needed to get it out!!
Hajime accepted, obviously. And from then on they began to date
They only told ra*bits and trickstar. Hajime thought it was best not to tell people other than that since its very risky for idols to date. Especially when ra*bits was just starting to rise! He would never let himself ruin it with a scandal
Subaru of course complied, he loved Hajime! They could tell others eventually, but really there was no telling how Eichi or the student council would react either.
In !! Era, once Eichi graduated and Mao took over as council president, they were a lot more open about their relationship. Everyone they knew in ES and yumenosaki knew and they didn't hide it. Mao's leadership was a lot calmer than Eichi, so they were free to be as affectionate as they wanted as long as it didn't cause trouble for their units!
And oh, are they affectionate
Holding hands in the hallways, eating lunch together at *least* twice a week, designated date nights every week, etc
Sometimes the dates were out and they would be "discreet" (really just not doing anything that romantic, Subaru was very vocal about supporting and loving Hajime. The public just didn't know it was romantic)
Other times they'd just sit in the others dorm and hang out, maybe order something or make something in the Seisoukan kitchen
Whenever the other was away they would call and text every day. They're so insanely attached to each other.
Their calls average 3 hours at LEAST! its painful for them to be away from each other
