Why don't you like hippos?

They’re terrifying! I used to have a recurring nightmare of being chased by hippos. I’m pretty chill with most animals, but not hippos.

Austria: What kind of person do you wish to be?

Wow starting off with a deep question. I want to be the kind of person who people (including and especially my future kids) look up to. I like being the person people turn to for advice (especially weirdly inspirational/slightly philosophical advice) and I like being the kind of person who makes people laugh with sarcastic humor.

Canada: Favourite wintertime activity?

Staying inside. Drinking warm drinks. Occasionally venturing outdoors to play with my dogs in the snow.

Cuba: What sort of grudges do you hold if any?

Probably not a fantastic quality of mine but sometimes I will hold people accountable for something they said/did a billion years ago that didn’t sit well with me. This applies less to my close friends; usually I can sort of overlook what they do.

France: How do you show love for those you care for?

I try to always be there for my friends and listen to their problems and let them know I love them out loud as often as possible. Then every once in a while I’ll really feel the need to reach out and get them a gift: either a small gift (like buying them their favorite food) for no reason or a larger/personalized one for a special occasion.

Germany: Do you have a hard time forgiving yourself?

Sometimes, but I’ve gotten a lot better! In college when things are so stressful and you make like 50 mistakes a day, you kind of have to forgive yourself and let things go most of the time.

Kenya: What is your favourite wild animal?

Peacocks! (Fun fact: my family raises them for no reason)

New Zealand: Would you rather be an elf, dwarf, Hobbit, or wizard?

Okay I know virtually nothing about any of those but probably a wizard right? They can do pretty cool things.

North Italy: What is your least favourite part of your personality?

Oh I don’t know sometimes I get extremely annoying/mean, especially when I’m running on little sleep or I’m stressed out or whatever. I can always tell when I’m being a complete jerk but I usually can’t stop!

Norway: What was the most disappointing time in your life?

Disappointing? Hmm well I guess my first semester or two of college didn’t play out how I pictured they would. College wasn’t what I imagined it to be at first. It took a year or so before it became what I had always thought it was.

Seychelles: How do you handle people being rude to you?

I am the MOST passive-aggressive person out there. I will either be subtly rude back, or if it’s more of a long-term thing I WILL devise a revenge plot.

Yemen: What kind of art do you like?

The kind I can understand? I don’t know much about art to be honest although I love the art museum on campus. I like photography mainly I would say.

What is the Ivy League snap story? Is it a snap story for all the ivies combined?

Yes! Cornell used to have a campus story where you could submit your snaps there and they would choose the best few to be viewed across Cornell, but then they invented Ivy League story. So now they take the best few snaps from across all the Ivies and put them together. It’s HIGHLY selective so needless to say making it on twice in one week is by far my greatest accomplishment since getting to Cornell.

Hercules: Favourite instrument?

Flute! I’ve played the flute and piccolo for years.

Orion: Favourite month?

Hmm maybe May because that’s usually when things start warming up here. But October is also really pretty in Ithaca, plus it contains Halloween aka the BEST holiday.

Gemini: Favourite song?

When I was younger I was OBSESSED with Creep by Radiohead so I still say it’s my favorite.

Supernova: What’s one thing you want to do before you die?

Wow a lot of things! Graduate college, get some kind of awesome job, have a family, etc. I also really want to go to all the major European capitals!

I'm mildly jealous that your fellow Cornellians despise Donald Trump irrespective of political affiliation. There are Trump supporters at my university and it makes me die inside.

Ugh I’m so sorry. I’m sure there are Trump supporters at Cornell too, just not people who actually take classes about politics!
