"IF I HAVE TO SEE IT YOU DO TOO"
❝Sorry, Darlin’, weirdest thing... Seems I’ve suddenly and temporarily gone blind. What a shame.❞
Suddenly lift and hold. He is holding this now
She is being held! Fate calmly accepted, for once-
"So I can make some friends here? Um... Umbriel here, uh... time to play?"

| Upon speaking the words, the owner hands you the supplies and seems to disappear with a sinister grin. The grounds become unusually silent as the gates slam shut. The hunt is on. |
The bracelet you have been given gives off a faint glow once donned. It seems your future partner is due either north or northwest. The northern path leads to a looming old manor. Ivy curls around the pillars outside, and faint candlelight can be seen in the windows. The northwest leads to a forest boasting tall, gnarled trees, tangled undergrowth, and a multitude of winding trails. Where will you go?

“No.. This isn’t anything new to me... Already met a couple other duplicates- past and present times.”
....Well, he assumed one of them was roughly the same time as him- ...Who knew how long it had been since the kiddo originally tried to leave between timelines? Ah, oh well.

@subconspirit plotted for a starter!
TEN YEARS, 41 losses... surely no one could fault him for being upset at the odds. Angry, even! Even with the kid’s help ( bless her heart for trying ), it seemed like the Conductor was still getting the upper hand... And the director hated to admit that at this point, he’s not sure how many more losses he can take.
What’s a penguin to do when he’s at the end of his rope but seek out the only other option he can think of? Hours of research and more still of preparation lead DJ Grooves to where he is now... which is to say, carefully traversing the winding, overgrown paths of Subcon Forest while doing his best to keep him and the two penguins accompanying him out of trouble ( he’d warned them about coming with him of course, but they were nothing if not stubborn ). Eyes peeled for any glimpse of movement, the bird moves with purpose...
... He’s not going to let himself lose again. No matter what it takes.
A dangerous game
Hide and seek was always something fun, but this was rather different. She needed to move, to hide elsewhere, it was clear even if she couldn’t see his piercing eyes in the forest- Snatcher had to be nearby. And staying in one vague area, as cluttered and perfect as the augment was, wouldn’t work. He could comb through it piece by piece and find her eventually- she needed to lose him.
It was the gamble of taking off for a new location that was the most dangerous, yet most potentially rewarding move. He could spot her if she ran. But if she got away, he could be looking for days more and have no idea where she went. The best place to hide next would be the burning forest- her warm colors and high contrast would do much better there than here.
Just to get over there from where she was now, curled up in the shadows of an old, broken down house, sealed off with dweller magic. She had no idea where Snatcher was, but she had to take the chance, now or never. Silently slipping through the wall, creeping into the bushes and pausing a moment. No giant serpentine ghost in sight... Time to keep moving, from bush to bush. Shadow to shadow. Obstacle and wall to nooks and crannies. Anywhere away from being caught in a glimpse.
