Nathan still didn't want to deal with Haley. He had told her that he wanted to divorce her but they had to be separated. But then that day, he had walked her through the halls because the girls were stupid and were giving her shit. He could give her hell and he appreciated that she was one of the people that Peyton wasn't happy with, but he wasn't going to let random girls who he'd hooked up with in the past, treat her like that. But, he hadn't been happy he did it later.

After school, he dramatically let himself in Peyton's house, while she was doing a podcast. From what he caught the night before, she was trying to talk about what she was feeling. He made sure to stay out of sight but he dropped down on her bed, messing with his shirt.

He knew that Peyton was mad at the world, but so was he. He was gone a lot of the summer but they seemed to still be getting along since he got back, even if he was still bitter as his mother. Plus, he didn't know where they stood after the, well several times before he left and before Haley came back.

When she finally stopped talking, he glanced at her. "For someone who is dark and depressed of late, that was a lot of talking. Before you ask, yes I am avoiding Haley and I appreciate your attitude with her."

                   SHE OFTEN wondered what a holiday felt like. And, after the downward spiral she’d gone on at the loss of her best friend ( and nearly losing her own life in the process ) Erin decided it was time to take one. A holiday wouldn’t hurt. And, going and surprising a friend that she’d not long reconnected with, was going to be a good way of spending it. And, hopefully she could get some sun. Letting out a soft sigh, Erin stepped out of her rental car in Tree Hill before making her way towards the door to the office and pulled it open before she stepped towards the reception with a smile “Hi there, I’m looking for Peyton Sawyer PLEASE?”.

“No--no we’re not. No grudges.” He sucked in his bottom lip, with a stressed line creasing through his forehead. He was nervous. This was suppose to be his big break, and he knew that it wouldn’t be simple. Why did the book he saw so much promise in, had to be tied to someone he previously dated? Peyton and him both went through the same hoops. At a job they felt overlooked in, and an ambition that could fill the entire building. He knew his gut was right, and all he wanted was to show everyone his vision. But he had a feeling if Lucas knew about what went on between them, he might lose his shot. “I guess what I’m asking is, does Lucas know what went on with us in L.A.?” He didn’t want to go in blind, and he knew from working on other projects just how important trust with the writers were.

Nathan's eyes tried to focus, but when they did that, he could tell it was light outside. When the hell had that happened? This also wasn't his bed. That was a newer feeling than he was used to. It had been a while, since he hadn't woken up in his own bed. But then, he opened his eyes again and that was when he saw red...everywhere. Oh damn.

He had another thought, but all the alcohol that he had the night before didn't agree with him and he ran to the bathroom, freshened up even a little and crawled back into bed. That was the first time he had really gotten a chance to glance over at her.

Had he and Peyton really...did they go back down that familiar path?

Well, he had a vague flash of them crashing into her door, lips and tongues tangled together, and it had made sense. He took a deep breath. He hadn't done this with anyone but Haley in a long time, but it wasn't like she was coming back.

Jake was gone but Peyton still might punch him when he woke up. Instead, he just put two aspirin on her side of the bed and some water and just waited.

Damn, he was proud of himself. He could feel the marks on his back and she had said before, that he was good in bed.

What did it all mean? Hell if he knew? It didn't stop him from glancing under the sheet though, and moving slightly closer to her. Round 2 could be fun. Okay, it wouldn't be round 2, he figured. It was more like Round 5 but last night counted as one round.

To say that Nathan Scott was fairly popular, well that was an understatement. He'd made Varsity as a freshman and he'd progressed from there, right along with the welcome party that led to his first time with Taylor...he thinks that was her name, but it was a while ago. It wasn't like he couldn't be with any girl that he wanted to be with, but the thing was, he and Peyton were a thing now. He was trying to be a good guy, ignore the temptations, no matter how tempting they were or how much Tim tried to encourage him to do them.

But, he liked Peyton. They had fun together, when it was just them. He tried not to be an asshole. They got along, well they had been doing good at that, going on a month now. Maybe it was the summer or something like that. He pulled up in front of her house, not bothering to knock. It's not like she'd hear it and he noticed her in her room and threw himself on her bed.

"You know, me trying to be a decent guy works a whole lot better, when you answer your front door. You're lucky you have a great ass and that we're getting along." He was trying to compliment her. He just was a bit odd.

❛❛ well, of course i think that you’re a good person now, nathan. i think you’ve made some shitty decisions at times. ❜❜ peyton was speaking quite honestly here. because of how long she’s known nathan she’s never known for him to be a bad person. even if she thought it at times. it was just the decisions he’s made that weren’t always the best ones. but then again… as she’s thought back, they’ve all made a few bad ones here and there, haven’t they? ❛❛ it doesn’t make you a bad person. just please promise me that you’ll continue to be one and you won’t turn back into the nathan that i used to know, alright? because him? he was a real ass. ❜❜

"I've made more than my share of them, that's for sure." He knew he was far from perfect. He'd made more than a few bad choices and okay, he'd made a lot of them, when they were together. But, he did try to make a few good ones now, or at least Haley had made him a better person. He didn't know how he felt most days now. She was back, and they had moments, but he was still mad, and still a dick. But, he was trying. "I'm trying, Peyton. It's just hard, when I feel like everything is a mess. I mean, you know how that is. It's really sucked for you, finding out you have another mom. I just got used to Haley being gone and now, she just wants us to pick up where we left off and my pride, well you know me. She hurt me." He sighed. He was possibly letting her in now, more than he had when they were actually together "A real ass, huh? Are you sure you don't mean I have a great ass? I mean, it wasn't all bad, you know, when you weren't dumping me every five minutes.."
