your guess is as good as mine; some Inquest dude probably but since everything was destroyed, they were forced to reverse-engineer it best they could and start over from scratch

so here’s Subject 0000-N or Subject “Null“: the first success in a long string of failures following 9730′s creation

He’s another chimera/Inquest DNA experiment similar to 9730. Where 9730 is mostly jotun with some canine & saurian influence, Subject 0000-N (“Null”) is mostly ogre and smogscale. A lot less care & attention was invested in Null from the start since the Inquest had to basically re-learn how to do the process at all (due to CoE meltdown & the death of the author). Null wound up being the first success in a long string of failures since 9730′s creation.

Null’s not very similar to 9730 past that, though. Where 9730 learned to turn his fear into aggression, Null’s fear turned into submission.

He’s generally what I call “a good boy who does bad things” & for the most part it’s true. He’s naturally very calm and amiable, but exposure & tampering from the Inquest has turned him skittish & compliant for the most part. He does as he’s told; as much as he hates to do it, he’s far more terrified of defying orders.

Null is nicknamed as such bc of his serial tag (0000-N).

Null would like nothing more than to be outside &/or free from the Inquest to do whatever he wants. They don’t even let him pet the bunnies…

He does not have any siblings, no. Once introduced to the thought, he probably wish he did have one or two, though.

Does Null have a favorite thing to do, or do they kinda not have that much free reign yet given their circumstances?

Since Null’s a lot easier to handle than 9730 ever was, he’s allowed a bit more freedom when not needed (read as: he’s not sedated 24/7). Not that the Inquest really provides much stimulation for him. Or any.

But anything that gets him out of his cell is his favorite. Uuuuusually up until he finds out what he’s out for.
